Hi,

My website is: jeromemarien.fr (In french)

Yoday I Installed WPML Multilingual CMS+ String translation + WPML SEO

I didn't installed Media translation as I prefer now to make it simple and have the same images in all languages

1) I add 2 languages in 2 domains:
jeromemarien.es (Spanish)
jeromemarien.com (English)

2) Launched Translate everything

The pages are OK, they all have the same image in all languages

Problem: the POST doesn't show featured image in English and Spanish

Hello,
I have access to Jérôme site and can help you guys following up the conversation.
I started the process to duplicate the featured images and media for all the languages but it didn't work. The media library was full of ghost images duplicated in the database but not working in the back end (for the translations) and not visible in the front end (for the users). Attaching snapshots of this.

Hi Xevi,

Thank you for contacting WPML support, I'd be happy to help you with this issue.

According to the Debug Info, I see the default language on your site is French and second languages are English and Spanish. And the translation images in the second language are broken so the featured image on the translation post is not working.

I suggest you follow some steps below and see if it helps:

1. Go to Media Library > Switch to List mode.
2. Switch to a second language with the language switcher at the topbar.
3. Select broken images in bulk > Delete them all.
4. Go to WPML > Settings > Scroll down to Media Translation section.
5. Enable some options:
- Translate existing media in all languages
- Duplicate existing media for translated content
- Duplicate the featured images for translated content
and click on "Start" button to duplicate images in second languages.

Hello Long,
That's exactly the process I did yesterday, thinking that it would fix it, and it did not work. Before, the media library was clean of broken images, and precisely the process of:
- Translate existing media in all languages
- Duplicate existing media for translated content
- Duplicate the featured images for translated content
and then clicking on the "Start" button to duplicate the images filled up the library with broken ones (but the featured image for the translations still wasn't there).
The site is restored to a back-up from before the Media Translation started now (so the library is clean), but I am afffraid the same will happen if we do the same under the same conditions.

Hi,

There are some broken images in the default language (French), please check this screenshot hidden link

Then I do:
- delete broken images in French
- delete all images in English, Spanish
- go to WPML > Settings > Media Translation section > Run the button "Start" again

Now you can see the images are duplicated in English, Spanish as well. I also deactivate two plugins "Templ Cache" and "Templ Optimizer" to prevent caching issues.
