Hi there, Thanks for your contact. Before your ticket is assigned to one of my colleagues, please allow me to walk you through some initial debugging steps. This will help speed up the support process. It seems you're not using our Media Translation addon: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/media-translation/. Could you please try to install it by going to Plugins -> Add New -> Commercial tab, or getting it from here https://wpml.org/account/downloads/? Also, after this, you might need to go to WPML -> Settings -> Media Translation and run the wizard setup again (just click on the 'start' button). Looking forward to your reply. Thank you. Kind regards, |

Hello, I am not sure if I understand the issue - is the image missing or are you trying to replace the image with a different file per language? By default, WPML will use the same images in all languages. This is controlled by the settings at WPML > Settings > Media Translation and with the "Duplicate Featured Image" option inside the right sidebar of the WordPress Editor. If those options are not marked on the original product, inside the right sidebar of the WordPress Editor, then the media will not be duplicated and no images should show up on the translated content. Further, you can upload alternative images for second languages at WPML > Media Translation. Best regards |

Morgen Andreas, Thanks for mentioning the option "the "Duplicate Featured Image" option inside the right sidebar of the WordPress Editor." To give you an example of my issue (there are probably more pages with this issue). My question is now: Does this description help? |

Hello, The images should appear if you go to WPML > Settings > Media Translation and click "Start". This process will create any missing media library entries in all languages, which is why it can take a long time to process, depending on how many media files are uploaded to the site. If you only need to fix a few products, it would be faster, if you just go to the original product and on WordPress, you enable to option to duplicate the featured image, then save the product, open the translation, and apply the translation again. Let me know if any further assistance is needed. Best regards |

Hi Andreas, I studied the documentation on your site and also did the following as suggested: But does not work, the featured image in the page of the secondary language is not changed. |

Hello, This could actually also be an issue related to a third plugin, like for example: - Media File Renamer: Rename Files (Manual, Auto & AI) I would like to offer to have a closer look at the problem and request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to the website to investigate this issue further. You can find the required fields below the comment section when you log in to leave the next reply. The information you provide is private, which means only you and I can see and access it. IMPORTANT I may have to install a plugin called "All In One WP Migration" to make a copy of the website where I can investigate the issue further. However, I would also be very grateful if you could provide a staging site or copy of the website from your server yourself for this purpose. If you have any questions about creating such a staging site, you can consult your hosting provider. Just take note that WPML should be registered on this site again. If you are unable to provide such a copy of the site for testing, please let me know on this ticket. The private response form looks like this: Next time you reply, click "I still need assistance." Video: Please note that we are obliged to request this information individually on each ticket. We may not access any access information not specifically submitted on this ticket in the private response form. Best regards |

Hello Henk, My apologies, but I am not sure if I understand your request correctly. Your examples: It looks to me at the moment as if you have manually replaced this image in the second language by using the WordPress Editor, correct? Are you trying to display the same image in the translation or should the image be replaced with an alternative version? What appears kind of odd, is that if I check for the image "Simmelink-advocaten-home" on WPML > Media Translation, then this image is by default assigned to the language English. I would suggest you try to delete the featured image from the Durch page and upload it again to the media library. This then should create a media entry in Dutch for this image at WPML > Media Translation. Now, translate the page - it should now show the same image on both pages. If you now, still want to replace this image in the English version, then you need to upload an alternative image at WPML > Media Translation, but make sure that the source language of the original image is Dutch. If this will not solve the issue, please let me know. Best regards |
