This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are managing a bilingual site with German as the default language and English as the secondary language. You have noticed that the homepage content sometimes reverts from English back to German even after translation.
Solution:
First, ensure that the homepage is correctly translated and appears as such on the front end. Next, edit the homepage in the default language (German), make a minor edit, and then update it. This action is to trigger and observe if the issue of language reversion occurs again. If this does not resolve the issue or if the solution seems outdated or not applicable to your case, we recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Additionally, if the problem persists, please open a new support ticket with us for further assistance at WPML Support Forum.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to manage a bilingual site with German as the default language and English as the secondary language. I have translated the homepage content from German to English. The issue can be seen at the following URL: hidden link

Symptoms:
The homepage content sometimes reverts from English back to German, even after translation.

Questions:
Why does the homepage content revert to the default language after translation?
How can I prevent the homepage from reverting to the default language?

Hi,

Thanks for contacting WPML forums support. I'll be glad to help you today.

1) Please let me know how the homepage is translated and if you duplicated it before translating it.

2) Could you please share your Debug information with me?
You can read a detailed explanation about it here. (http://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support)
The debug info will give me much information about how your site is configured.

Best regards,
Osama

Hi Osama,

Thanks for your feedback.

We translated the homepage after duplicating the main page and then we translated it manually.

Please find here the debug information.

Thanks
Stathis

Hi Stathis,

Please edit the translated home page using the WordPress editor and check if you can see the Translate Independantly button.

Best regards,
Osama

Hi Stathis,

Thanks for your reply. Please translate the homepage and make sure it's translated on the front end.

After that, please edit the homepage in the default language, make a minor edit, and update it to trigger the issue.

Kindly let me know the result of the above test.

Best regards,
Osama

Hi Osama,

Thanks a lot for your fast reply.

I have added the english headline directly from the front end (I'm working with Elementor, see screenshot). I did this already once, after a while it's showing me the German version again. Here the website:

hidden link

I changed after that now the headline in the default language and added in the end of the headline a "!": hidden link

Maybe the issue will appear tomorrow and the English headline will be again German. Should we wait for that?

Hi Stathis,

Thanks for your reply. Please keep an eye on the headings until the issue happens to know what triggers the issue.
