[Resolved] How can I apply a different page template to my translation page?
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: You are trying to apply different page templates to translated pages using the Full Site Editing (FSE) system, but you cannot see the option to select a 'template' under the page options in the block editor for these translated pages. Solution: We recommend following the steps outlined in this article on how to use different translation editors for different pages, which might help you manage templates for translated content more effectively: Using Different Translation Editors for Different Pages.
If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, please check the related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verify the version of the permanent fix, and confirm that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. We highly recommend opening a new support ticket if you continue to experience issues. You can do so here: WPML Support Forum.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to apply two separate page templates to two different translated pages for styling purposes. In the block editor for translated pages, I don't see the option to select 'template' under the page options to choose a different template from the FSE. My translated pages are only pulling from the page/paginas template.
Symptoms:
I don't see the option to select 'template' under the page options in the block editor for translated pages.
Questions:
How can I apply a different FSE template to my translated pages?
Thanks Andrey! Unfortunately I'm not seeing the same options as the documentation. I'm not seeing a plus sign or a duplication option?
P.S. the style changes we need to apply are in the FSE, not the block editor. We don't want the page title to appear on some translated pages, which we can't control in the block editor, but we can in the FSE.

You won't see the options because the page is already translated (and it shows a pencil icon). The article recommends using the WordPress editor (FSE or block editor) instead of the WPML translation editor for page translation. This allows you to adjust settings for the translated page, just like you would for the original language.
I don't see the option to select 'template' under the page options in the block editor for translated pages.
When using Full Site Editing (FSE), I cannot see this option in the original language on the new website. Could you show me how this option looks?
Thanks Andrey, I've attached a screenshot of the template option I get on the original English version of the page. When I switch to the WPML Spanish translated version, that template option goes away.
For the 'plus sign' missing issue, I'll try to translate the pages again to see if the plus sign appears.
Your theme probably adds that. The plus icon appears when the page is not translated.
I suggest you test this with a new page to see if this helps.
Here's an outline of the steps:
- Create a new test page
- Using the article above, switch the translation editor to WordPress
- Click the plus icon on the language switcher sidebar to translate the page
– Check if the option to choose a template appears
