Yesterday we started using the WPML plugin and immediately started translating our website. We were very happy with this plugin and its capabilities. Unfortunately, in our view, this immediately went terribly wrong! Before I started the automatic translation, the calculator indicated that approximately 500,000 credits were required. Because I had 90,000 for free, this would mean that approximately 410,000 would be needed and this would cost around 200 euros. Totally fine for us. Eventually the 90,000 credits were used up and I set up Pay-as-you-go, assuming that it would charge a maximum of 500,000 credits. There was also a button visible afterwards that you could click on to continue, because I got a red bar with the text that there were not enough credits. I pressed the continue button a few times and after doing so I saw the credit usage increase to almost 5 million! What was also very strange is that the translator continued to translate until this morning (At this point the translator has stopped again with 166 translations still in the queue). As if I have built up some kind of credit with credits. But nowhere can I see whether this is actually the case and how many credits I have left or how many have actually been used. I have now installed WordPress word count and counted the words on the website. This is 100,000 and would therefore mean that 200,000 credits are required. I would also be happy with 500,000 credits, but 5 million is way too much! Can you check what went wrong here and come up with a suitable solution? Or do I misunderstand everything and at the end of the month it is checked how many credits you have actually used and this is then compensated with the invoice already received? |

Would you be willing to provide me with WordPress credentials and so I could investigate the issue directly? There is a “WordPress admin and server access" box below where you can add them. We don’t need FTP at this point, so just enter noftp into these fields. I'd like to check if these texts are in fact taxonomies (that would be translated this way), as it may be the same bug as we had with this client: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/millions-of-tokens/#post-15039427 You can create a custom admin user with admin@example.com email I will not make any changes, will only observe. |

I understand, it does not give me a required access though. But you can check this also. During the chat session, I checked one product URL hidden link because it looks like that many products have quite a lot of translated words, it is not very common for products to have 5000 or more words and almost all products show such values. This is translation of hidden link In the translation, I see there are segments siuch as "Onze collectie van de meest luxueuze paddles, zwepen en veren zijn speciaal ontworpen om je zowel te pijnigen als je te plezieren." I cannot find this text anywhere on the page, neither within source code. Can you check where exactly does this text appear? Is this perhaps part of the taxonomy translation? Because this is a product category description and if it wasn't translated before, it would get translated like this. In the same translation, can you identify some other text that doesn't appear in the product content itself, neither within the source code, but it is still within translation editor? |

I checked this product text and it only contains 72 words. Most of our products contain text of much less than 1000 words I was also looking for this and wanted to report this in the chat, but it was already closed at that time. There are many products with very little text, but the CSV file shows many more words that have been translated. For example this product, it contains about 194 words: The text you are asking about is indeed a category text and it is only displayed on the category page: hidden link |

Understood. Are any of these texts, like the category text, visible in other translations? You could verify by examining another product within the same category. |

Can you examine these products? hidden link hidden link hidden link All these have between 6000 and 8000 translated words, can you check the translations for them to see what are these extra texts within these that don't appear on products directly, but may be part of the taxonomy descriptions? Also between these pairs, do you see any repeating texts that show in translation editor as both originals and translations? |

Good morning Bruno, I have researched the products and see nothing strange in these translations or the original products. I also don't see anything in the taxonomy translations |

Bruno, I have consulted with my colleague and, in exceptional cases, I can give you access as an admin. Is this still interesting for you? |

I am waiting for the feedback from our 2nd tier, we concluded that it was the same issue as https://wpml.org/forums/topic/millions-of-tokens/ given that the same content was charged for e.g. hidden link Because all of them got translated at the same time so translation memory was not reused for repetitive taxonomy terms and descriptions. We already have developments ticket for this, I will keep you posted on this. |

Bruno Thank you. Can you also ensure that I receive a refund? Because the amount of credits has now been debited from my credit card and this is a significant amount! I was also wondering when I can activate pay as you go again and continue translating? |
