Hi,

We need to know how to translate the text strings that have been added directly to the code of some .php files of our website. We cannot find them in the string translation section of the plugin after having analyzed all plugins and themes and we do not know where or how to mark these strings for translation.

We've found this documentation about Language Configuration Files (https://wpml.org/documentation/support/language-configuration-files/) but we don't know if this could help us or how to do it.

We attached a few screenshots with samples of the texts that we are not able to translate using WPML. These are the links were we took the screenshots from:
- hidden link (Home 1, 2 and 3)
- hidden link (Dictionary 1)
- hidden link (Blog post 1 and 2)

We appreciate any help you can give us. Thank you.

Hi there,

Thanks for your contact.

Before your ticket is assigned to one of my colleagues, please allow me to walk you through some initial debugging steps. This will help speed up the support process.

You will need to wrap your strings in a gettext function, so that the system can localize and scan it. Please read and follow our related doc: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/enabling-text-translation-for-themes-not-compatible-with-wpml/

Looking forward to your reply. Thank you.

Kind regards,
Mateus.
