[Resolved] I need help resolving an issue with the product sitemap generated by Yoast on a client's WooCommerc...
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: You need help resolving an issue with the product sitemap generated by Yoast on a WooCommerce site using WPML, WPML SEO addon, WooCommerce Multilingual & Multicurrency, and Yoast SEO plugins. The product sitemap includes a non-existent URL that redirects to a correct URL. Solution: The issue you're experiencing is known. Yoast has merged the necessary changes for a new filter to refactor the code, which is a prerequisite for us to work on a fix. Meanwhile, we recommend deactivating the Yoast sitemap option in the settings via the toggle to generate a new version of the sitemap.
If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, please check related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verify the version of the permanent fix, and confirm that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. We highly recommend opening a new support ticket if the problem persists. For further assistance, you can contact us through the WPML support forum.
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.

Background of the issue:
I need help resolving an issue with the product sitemap generated by Yoast on a client's WooCommerce site using WPML, WPML SEO addon, WooCommerce Multilingual & Multicurrency, and Yoast SEO plugins. I am trying to ensure that the product sitemap does not contain links to non-existent URLs or URLs that redirect. Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link
Questions:
Can the incorrect URL in the product sitemap generated by Yoast be corrected or removed?
Do you have any ETA for a fix release for this issue, as it is quite frustrating that it has persisted for so long?

Hi,
The issue mentioned in your ticket is not yet resolved. Currently, this has a low priority for our developers since only three clients have requested a fix so far. We will inform you here once it is addressed.
I can see that the required changes for introducing a new filter to refactor the code were merged by Yoast, which was necessary before we could begin working on it.
In the meantime, if you deactivate the Yoast sitemap option in the settings via the toggle, it should generate a new version of the sitemap for you.
We are pointing out a bug that you have been aware of for at least 2 years, and you are telling me that it is not necessary for you to fix it because it is encountered by few users, even though the fix has already been identified and requires only a few lines of code? Moreover, you are not considering the fact that this is a bug affecting the site's sitemap, which is not often checked by users but is crucial for SEO purposes. This is probably why the bug is rarely encountered by users. But it is there.
I am frankly very surprised by the low level of attention your company gives to the quality of the product it sells.

Hi,
I wanted to clarify that our developers determine what gets fixed, not the support team. As I mentioned earlier, we couldn't address this issue in the past because there was no available filter in Yoast that we could use. This filter is necessary for the code refactoring required before we can resolve the issue you reported. This fix depends on other elements that need to be changed first.
Since there is a stable workaround available, we'll let you know as soon as the fix is ready for download. Unfortunately, I can't provide an ETA at this time.

The last update of WPML SEO 2.1.0 was released in September 2022. The next one (2.2.0) will probably include the fix, so this will not require a manual fix from your side, as there is no release between.
