I am setting up a website to serve content under two domains, site.at and site.de, with both domains showing the same content in German. The content on site.at is intended for Austria (AT) and should be recognized as such, while the content on site.de is for Germany (DE) but also in German.
Symptoms:
When attempting to add German as a second language for Germany in the WPML setup, I encounter an error stating 'A new language could not be added correctly'. Increasing the memory limit as suggested in the forum did not resolve the issue.

How can I add German as a second language for the site.de domain in WPML, considering both languages are German but represent different countries?
Is there any other documentation or steps I should follow to resolve the issue of adding a custom language that results in an error?
