Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate my home page using WPML. The issue can be seen at the following link: hidden link

Symptoms:
I receive a critical error when I try to translate my home page via the translation editor. The translation of the page worked before but has now stopped working. I already removed the English version entirely to see if that fixed the issue, but with no result. When I click the plus sign to translate, the update icon keeps spinning.

Questions:
Why am I encountering a critical error when translating my home page?
What steps can I take to resolve the spinning update icon issue?

To help us troubleshoot the issue, please try the following:

1. Activate only the WPML plugins and ACF to check if the issue persists. This will help identify any conflicts with other plugins.

2. Switch to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty to rule out any theme-related issues.

3. While using this minimal setup (steps 1 and 2), try sending the homepage through Translation Management as explained here: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/#using-wpmls-translation-management. Then, check the debug log at `/wp-content/debug.log` to see if any errors appear when creating a new translation job.

I'm going on a holiday now, so I will only be able to check this within 2 weeks. I will get back to you.

Thank you for the update! I hope you have a wonderful and relaxing holiday.

Just a quick note: this ticket may automatically close after about 10 days of inactivity. However, if that happens, you're always welcome to create a new ticket once you're back and have had a chance to complete the tests and check the debug logs.
