Background of the issue:
Our homepage has German as the main language and English and French as translated versions. I want to set a different English page as the start page for the English version, (different from the start page for the main language and its translations). I want to do this without losing existing translations or causing other errors.

Symptoms:
According to the warning message, I would have to also publish the German and French versions of the page that I want to set as the start page for the English version, but I want the existing French and German versions' start page to remain the same.

Questions:
Is there a way to set a different start page for the English version without losing existing translations or causing errors?
Can I set a different start page for the English version without having to publish the German and French versions of that page?
