Background of the issue:
I am trying to make the language flags visible on the menu language switcher on my site hidden link. I am following the documentation at https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-switcher-options/ to set this up.

Symptoms:
The language flags are not visible on the menu language switcher. I can switch languages, but I cannot see the actual language I am switching to.
