Hi, I have attached my language switcher settings, here is the URL of my site : v2.huellandina.com.

as you can see the main navigation bar of the site shows switcher and it doesn't open or show anything on hover also on mobile, it just redirect to same page on clicking.

Hi there,

Thank you for contacting WMPL Support.

I could see on your website that when you scroll down the page (on the desktop version), on the main menu a language switcher dropdown menu shows up, apart from the menu item that has been there since the website is loaded.

Can you tell me how are you adding that language switcher to the menu and how are you adding the other one?
Is that the default WPML language switcher or custom code?

Hi,

In order to proceed further can you please:

1 ) share WPML support debug information from your website

To give debug information, login to your site and go to WPML → Support. From there click on the “debug information” link at the bottom of the page.
Once on the “debug information” page, select the entire content of the text box and copy it.
Now go back to our support forum ticket, find the debug information box, and paste it.

2 ) I suggest to test if the issue happens on a staging site with a minimal setup:

set a default WP theme
enable WPML plugins

all the other plugins should be disabled.

In case you test in your live site:
Make a backup of your site in order to prevent any data loss.

*Also, I suggest you check if WPML plugins are updated, or if any other plugin needs to be updated on your website.

Hi,

Thank you for the access, I was able to check your website and I would need to do a few more tests in order to check if it is related to any compatibility issue with any plugin.

1- Is it OK if I proceed on the website you gave me access to for further testing (I will need to disable plugins, and test with only WPML Plugins, a default WordPress theme)
2- If not possible I can provide a testing site where you can try to reproduce the same issue in a simple example using only WPML Plugins and Oxygen builder.

Hello,

I ran some additional tests to investigate the issue and due to the fact that the Oxygen page builder it's not yet fully compatible with WPML, issues like this happen.

However, I would suggest a workaround solution:

1. Go to your WP Admin -> WPML > Languages > Menu language switcher section, click the red X icon in the actions field to delete the default menu language switcher.

2. On the same WPML page, make sure to check the checkbox in the "Custom language switchers" section.

3. While using the Oxygen page builder, edit the "main" template. In your website's menu, add a shortcode block and use the custom language switcher shortcode [wpml_language_selector_widget].
