This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The client imported posts and pages to a new location using the WPML import/export plugin but the English posts were not linked to the original French posts, causing the language switcher to not function properly.
Solution:
We recommended the client to follow the steps provided in our documentation on how to manually link already translated pages. Here is the documentation for reference:
