You’re correct, the workaround I suggested will display all default-language pages in the US variant.
Our development team is aware of these requirements, and the goal is to provide a stable WPML/Elementor workflow that handles these scenarios without manual adjustments. I’ll update you as soon as we have a proper solution.
Thank you for your patience

Hi Noman,
Any news on providing a stable WPML/Elementor workflow that handles these scenarios without manual adjustments yet?
We've got a large multilingual site coming up in Jan 2026 and it'd be great to know we've got this sorted before that point. So we've the confidence to use WPML again for this project.
Thanks

I completely understand why this is important, especially with a larger project coming up.
At the moment, I don’t have an ETA from the development team yet. For upcoming or new projects, our current recommendation is to use “Elementor’s Button widget” (or widgets that support dynamic internal URLs), as links created this way are correctly handled and translated by WPML out of the box. This approach provides a more reliable setup while the broader workflow improvements are being worked on.
I’ll keep you updated as soon as I have concrete news from the team.
Thank you for your patience and for sharing your concerns so clearly
