i used the auto-translate and it changes Priolo Gargallo (the name of the project) to "Project" in the various languages on my primary menu

That menu option must remain Priolo Gargallo throughout is there a way to set this as an exception?

Please review the Glossary feature here as I believe this should help you.
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/how-to-create-and-manage-glossary-entries/

Also for the already translated content, you should be able to manually edit the translation for that string.

Hi Bobby,

I have added the project name to proper nouns for future translations. I cannot find where to go to edit the translations for the primary menu. I can find editing the translations for the pages but not the menu please assist.

Glad to hear that!

Please go to Appearance ->Menus and from there you can add or edit the menu translations.

i think the problem is i already uto-translated the entire site so the menus are already translated.
It says the menus for auto translate cant contain custom links

Thank you for updating me, if you go to Appearance-> Menus and switch the translated version (you can switch to the secondary language), can you manually edit it to add the custom menu item?
