Thanks for reading these notes! I am having the hardest time with the WP Menus showing in the translated menus. WP Menu Sync doesn't seem to work not the string translation. I made a screen recording to demonstrate this in real-time: hidden link

Thanks for contacting WPML forums support. I'll be glad to help you today.

Thanks for the video. Please try the following steps:

1- Go to WPML-> WP Menu Sync
2- Sync the menus
3- After completing the menu sync process, go to Appearance-> Menus
4- Switch the language from the top admin bar
5- Edit the translated main menu to translate the untranslated strings
6- Save the menu
7- Clear the cache and check the front end

❌ Please backup your database before performing the above steps ❌

For some reason, when I switch to the second language (in our case Spanish), now no menus are showing at all in Spanish to even edit and it continuously prompts me to "Create a New Menu" every time. The English Menus have the link to Spanish in them and the Menus system shows there are 3 Spanish menus, but none of them ever load. You'll see this in the video.

Thanks for the video. Please take a database backup and try the following steps:

1- Go to WPML-> Support-> Troubleshooting
2- Run the functions one by one (Kindly check this hidden link)
3- Go to Appearance-> Menus and check if the Spanish menus appear correctly.

If not, I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP)
– preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible –
in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.

Your answer will be private, meaning only you and I can access it.

❌ Please backup your database and website ❌

✙ I would need your permission to de-activate and re-activate the Plugins and the Theme and change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is critical.

✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.

Hi Osama!

Okay, I was going through the Troubleshooting but am back to report that the "Set Language Information" has been running for about 3-4hrs and is still stuck. Here is a screenshot: hidden link.

Do you know if it is okay that I reload the page and try again, or just move on to the next Troubleshooting option?

This website has: 21 LearnDash Courses, 182 Lessons, 600 topics, 101 Quizzes, 573 Questions (in those quizzes), 26 Pages, a number of Gravity Forms, Custom Post Type FAQs, etc. but most of 25,600 Users…do you think that is why it is taking so long?

Thanks for any feedback and advice you might be able to give on what best to do next: let it run, or conclude it got hung up on something.

It seems that it's stuck. Please continue the other troubleshooting functions, clear the site's cache, and try the "Set Language Information" again.

Also, please check the menus after finishing the other troubleshooting functions.

Thanks, again, for your help.

It looks like the issue with the Menus is still present even after all of the troubleshooting steps. This is a very active site, so I would need to prep a staging environment for you to take a look, and at the moment, that staging environment is still in use from the redesign, so let me see if I can dig into this a little bit. Am I right that you suspect it is a plugin conflict, or could it be something else with WPML itself?

Thanks, again, for your help so far! I wish I could get you in to solve this right away, but with staging already taken and the LIVE site not being available for deactivating, I need to sustain this for at least one more day before replacing staging.

That said, do you have any other ideas of what it might be/anything else I can try in lieu of you logging into debug? I am happy to keep trying and am comfortable with WordPress so just let me know.

I'm afraid I don't have more ideas and need to check the site. If you don't have a staging available, we could try a site snapshot if possible. We usually recommend the free Plugin "Duplicator" for this porpoise.

If you already know how Duplicator works. (http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/)
Please skip the following steps and send me the installer file and the zipped package you downloaded.

Send me both files (you probably want to use DropBox, Google Drive, or similar services, as the snapshot file will be pretty big)

1) Thanks for your update. Access to the shared drive file is denied, so please grant me permission.

2) It would be better if you created a new package excluding the media (uploads folder) from it to reduce the size.

Also, I can wait for the staging site to be available if this is your preferred approach.

Hi Osama,

Believe it or not, it's the database that is 4.56GB in size (per the Site Health > Info tab). WP-Uploads is *only* (still a lot) 1.7GB.

Anyhow, the URL is available now. Thank you so much again. I will just protect/restrict the file once again after you are able to download it, and then after troubleshooting we can be sure it's all deleted on your end. Thank you so much, Osama, for being willing to do this with me. I am very grateful for your help to figure this out!
