Hi,

The staging site has an issue with the ATE connection and we won't be able to check the translations there.

This might be related to how the staging was created, please try the following steps to create a new clone:

1. Delete the current staging site
2. Create a new clone (Please make sure to use a recent package of the original site not the same one used to create the provided staging)
3. Once the new clone is ready, you should see a notice from WPML asking if this is a copy of your original site or if it's moved to this URL. Please select "Copy"

I use the All in One WP Migrate tool to backup on the main and import on the target.

I just did a new backup / import.

WPML didn't ask me like normal if this is a copy or not. I enabled the account so you can log in again.

I think that tool replaces the database but maybe only updates it .. if you need me to delete the plugins / run a db command to delete something then restore it again .. just let me know the commands.

Deleting the ATE keys from the database won't help in this case as it will create a new connection with our servers and we won't be able to check the translation jobs you created before.

Could you please confirm that the backup you installed on your staging was just created from the live site?

If the backup was installed somewhere else before the staging it will show this issue with the ATE connection.

Yes, I did a new fresh backup, downloaded it, imported (upload) to the wip site. Used the All-In-One WP Migrate (it is what I have always used).

It used to ask after I imported if it was a copy or not. But now it's not for some reason?

Kindly create a copy of your live site with the Duplicator plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/) and provide a link to download it.

The plugin will create a package file that you can download then upload again to Google Drive or Dropbox and share the download link in the next reply which I have marked as private.

Then I’ll import the site to our testing servers on Cloudways and check if we can access the translations there.

Please check here for more details: https://wpml.org/faq/provide-supporters-copy-site/

Hi,
Sorry for the late reply due to the weekend.

The site copy works locally but not on Cloudways and the banner with "Copy/Moved" action appears there.

I shared this with our devs and will update you once we have more clues.

Hi,

Please try the following steps and let us know how that goes:

1. Make a small change to the original page
2. Update the page translations automatically in bulk from WPML > Translation Management (https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatically-translating-multiple-translation-jobs-in-bulk/#automatically-translating-posts-and-pages-in-bulk)

If that didn't help, we suggest updating the pages manually to fix this issue on the live site.

Hello,

1) I already tried that a few times. Doesn't help.

2) I can't edit manually, it doesn't help. If I just edit the page itself, everything looks fine on the back-end, but once you try to view the page it still doesn't show up (tried clearing caches, etc..).

Something is broke since WP 6.3 and latest WPML updates.

I'm trying to delete WPML completely to have a fresh starting point. I am following https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/deleting-languages-and-plugin-data-by-doing-a-wpml-reset-on-your-site/ but I'm now stuck on Step 1, after trying to delete the content (takes a long time), most of the stuff is gone but there are 2 "Product categories" and 11 "Navigation Menus" listed for each language that won't go away. I click the X to delete and it says it did it, but refresh page and it shows up again.

How do I get rid of those? I don't have the wip. site currently accessible. You'd probably see the same with the copy of the site sent.

Hi David,

Regarding the live site issue, may I kindly ask you to provide us with temporary access so our developers can investigate the issue directly there?

I've enabled the private reply. Please note also that we won't make changes that will affect the live site without your prior authorization.

I tested removing some languages on the local copy and it takes a long time, this depends on the size of the removed content and probably this is because of the number of attachments.

But I couldn't see the same behavior and no navigation menus or product categories remains. Could you please clear the site cache and then try again?

It seems to go away, but if you refresh the page then those items show up again.

I'm looking now at trying to remove everything and start fresh.

So you're trying this on the live site, please make sure that you have a full backup of the database and website then try running the WPML troubleshooting options. To do this, go to WPML > Support > Troubleshooting page, and click the following:

- Clear the Cache in WPML
- Remove ghost entries from the translation tables
- Fix element_type collation
- Fix WPML table collation
- Set language information
- Fix terms count
- Fix post type assignment for translations

Then try to delete the content of removed languages again and check if the issue is resolved.
