This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was using the PopUpAnything plugin to add button text and heading text from the plugin settings and wanted to translate this text using WPML. They attempted to duplicate and overwrite the content with the WordPress editor.

Solution:
We initially suggested that there might be a compatibility issue with the PopUpAnything plugin, as it was not listed on our compatible plugins page. We recommended searching for the strings in WPML -> String Translation and, if not found there, to look in the Translate texts in admin screens section. We provided a guide on how to do this under "Translating Admin and Settings Strings" at this documentation link.

However, the client decided to switch to using the Elementor Pro plugin for popups and managed to resolve the issue.

So I am using this plugin - PopUpAnything which adds the button text and heading text from the plugin settings, where you can put whatever you want. I am trying to translate that already set text from there with duplicate method with the wordpress editor, by duplicating and overwritting content. The only step I am missing is the delete the old one, as I am not sure which one to do and if it will work. If I do the preview of the translated part it works, but not in practice. Could you assist me on what I am missing?

Uploading images for more clarity. On the first screen you can see the Headings in the top of the pop up, still in the default language, and the button text on the background as well.

On the second we have the duplication of the popups. I am guessing I need to delete one of them in order to work, not sure which one.

Thanks in advance for the support!

Hi,

We might be facing a compatibility issue with the PopUpAnything plugin by essentialplugin. This plugin is unknown to us. It is not on our list of compatible plugins here.

https://wpml.org/plugin/

You may find those strings for translation in WPML -> Strings Translation. And if you cannot find them in the Strings Translation section, you can try to look for them in the Translate texts in admin screens section. Please read about it in our guide here. Look under "Translating Admin and Settings Strings".

https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/finding-strings-that-dont-appear-on-the-string-translation-page/#translate-admin-and-settings-strings

Please let me know if this information has helped you solve this problem.

Regards,
Itamar.

Hello Itamar,

I have tried your methods, but unfortunately the entries from the plugin get hardcoded inline on the page and there needs to be some alteration to the code in order to be compatible (In my opinion ofcourse). With that being said I decided to drop the plugin and use a pop up option from elementor PRO plugin.

I managed to make it work like that, so the issue is fixed.

Thank you for the support. Wish you great week ahead.

You may close the ticket.

Regards, vasilis
