Background of the issue:
We are using the Image Gallery widget from Powerpack Pro, and I'm trying to get the filtering feature to work for translated languages. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link
Symptoms:
I can't get the filter feature to work unless I manually edit the page through the translated version, and insert the gallery again. Then it's ok, but once you make any changes to the translation, the filter feature breaks again. Also, you would have to go to each page's gallery one by one for it to work. You can see all the images on the 'All', but not one single image shows up in any of the filter labels, e.g., YEAST DOSING.
Questions:
Why does the filter feature not work on translated pages? How to get it to work?
Please go to WPML -> Languages -> Language filtering for AJAX operations, and ensure that the option 'Store a language cookie to support language filtering for AJAX' is selected. If not, please select it and click the Save button. Then, if you cache on your site, clear it and check if it works.
If you need further help with this issue, please share your site's debug information. You can read about it here.
When I check the page with the problem hidden link, I see only one product that is translated hidden link.
If the products are not translated (or published, but set as a draft), this may explain the problem. If the option to show the products from the default language is enabled, please know that it might not work for the filtering option. If this is the case, then it explains the cause of this problem.
If that is not the case, we suspect a collision with the theme or another plugin might cause this problem. If possible, get your site into a minimum environment by switching to a default WordPress theme like TwentyTwenty-Four and having no plugins activated except WPML.
First, you must check if the problem persists when just the theme is switched to TwentyTwenty-Four (for example). If it persists, deactivate all plugins except WPML and its add-ons, Elementor + Pro, and the PowerPack Pro for Elementor plugin. Then, please check if the problem persists. If it does not, start by activating the plugins individually and checking when the issue comes back, then report to me which plugin was the culprit.
**** Important! Please make a full site backup (files and DB) before you proceed with those steps****
*** If your site is live, you might want to try those procedures in a staging environment or a snapshot of your site on your local server or another server. ***
Regards,
Itamar.
