Dear WPML team, I would like to have product categories to be copied into translated categories in bulk. I managed to change thumbnail_id to "copy" and did WPML -> taxonomy translation -> clicked "Copy to all languages". It helped me to get 1 thumbnail out of 480 for translated product categories. Hello Max, thanks for contacting us. Yes, that would be the correct way if you are adding an image to the default product category image field. Depending on your theme and other plugins, it could be that there is also another field. I suggest you do next, if possible: - Please make a backup before proceeding. - Go to Products > Categories, check if image is there. Let me know how it goes. Regards, |

Dear Drazen, Thank you for your message. I reached "- Click to update/save the source category (original language)". How to do it ? I assume you meant to say to go throughout all the categories one by one and save/update each one separately? If yes, is there any other way to do it in bulk, because we have almost 500 categories? Dear Drazen, I assume I found the problem that cause this problem. We are using the following plugin to generate product categories thumbnails in our shop: It show thumbnails on front-end for the original language, however we don't see thumbnails for translated languages. Hello Max, WordPress has internal bulk actions both for posts and categories: - hidden link 1) Are your products translated into other languages? Go to WooCommerce Multilingual & Multicurrency >Products and check if the pencil icon is showing. 2) If yes, please share admin access so I can log in and check further issues. Please make a full backup of your site (files and database) and confirm it in your next reply. Please note, that I might need to do some debugging procedures like enable/disable plugins, switch themes, change the default language of the user account, and/or access your website database to debug the issue furtherly. I will share with you any changes or steps done in this process. Please let me know if you do not agree with the above or if I do not have your permission for any. I would need to access both your site's wp-admin and FTP account, if possible. I have enabled the private username and password fields in your next reply. I suggest you create a new user, set it as an administrator and then add those credentials in the private fields mentioned. You can safely add your information into these fields. Thanks, |

Hello, thanks for getting back. >- We keep original text for Products, so we are not translating them. I think then this is the issue causing the problem you have since this plugin is getting images from the product from that category. And if you don't have an existing product with images in that language, it can not take any images. There is no translated product existing for a translated category. Hello Max, sure you can duplicate them, I would advise first duplicating one product to confirm this will work and help in your case with thumbnails. You can then duplicate in bulk all others. Let us know how it goes and if you still need help. Regards, |

Product was duplicated, however it didn't attach Product image in both cases for translated(duplicated) Products. How do we attach image automatically? Kind regards, |

Hello Max, if the translated product has an image now, then the associated translated category should have one also. If not, can you please follow next steps and let me have a look what is wrong: 1) Share the URL to translated product and the URL to the translated category that is missing the image? 2) Please make a full backup of your site (files and database) and confirm it in your next reply. Hello Max, yes, you can duplicate it in bulk like that, just make sure you have enabled by default to duplicate images also from WPML > Settings. I would also advise editing a few default language products and confirming option is checked. Please check: Regards, |
