[Resolved] product images in the translated language is incorrect
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client was experiencing issues with incorrect product images in the English version of their website after duplicating a product and updating its details. Additionally, there was confusion about what '7 left' means next to the 'Duplicate terms' option in WPML. Solution: First, we recommended editing the primary language product and clicking "Update" to resync the data to the translated product. If the images still appeared incorrect, we suggested clearing the cache using the "Clear the cache in WPML" button found in WPML > Support > Troubleshooting. For issues related to missing brands on translated products, the solution involved resaving the product in the original language and retranslating it to ensure all data is correctly synced across languages.
If these steps do not resolve your issue, or if the solution seems outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking the related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Additionally, you can open a new support ticket for further assistance at WPML support forum.

I tried adding a new product by duplicating an existing one, then modified the title, content, and product images. However, I found that the product images in the English version were incorrect.
I then followed these steps:
WCML > Status > Troubleshooting > Duplicate terms (please select attribute) > Edit the primary language of the product > Click “save/update” > Done
But the product images in the English version are still incorrect.
Also, what does “7 left” mean next to Duplicate terms (please select attribute)?
Thanks for your patience. Sorry, I broke the translation on this page hidden link . Could you please retranslate this?
Also, I kindly ask for a snapshot of the site. Alternatively, with your permission, I can create one myself. For this purpose, I typically recommend using the free plugin "Duplicator." If you're already familiar with Duplicator (https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/), please skip the following steps and simply send me the archive file you downloaded.
To guide you further, please adhere to these instructions:
1. View the Duplicator instructions video: hidden link
3. If the archive file exceeds 400MB, please use Duplicator's file filters to exclude cache, wp-uploads directory, media, and archive files.
Once you have the archive file ready, kindly share the link with us. You can utilize platforms like Google Drive, Dropbox, or similar for file sharing, as the snapshot file might be large.
Please note that your next reply will be private, visible only to you and me. You can paste the file link there. Rest assured that once the issue is resolved, I will delete the local site.
It looks like everything is working fine for me on local dev site. The product image in the translated language is showing correctly. It looks like some cache issue, can you create new administrative login credentials for me? I also need your permission to deactivate plugins on your Website.
The images are now displaying correctly. Could you please tell me how to resolve this issue if image desynchronization occurs in the future?
Thank you very much.
However, when I tried modifying the images of past products today, the translated page’s images did update correctly, but the product category and brand disappeared. Once again, I am unable to add categories and brands through product editing.
Default language (Chinese):hidden link
Translated language (English, missing product category and brand):hidden link
Usually, what we do would be to edit the primary language product hidden link and click "Update", then, translate the page again so that it can resync the data to the translated product. I've done it for you here and it works now hidden link
Could you recheck? let me know if you still face any issues.
Something seems off. I followed the steps you mentioned for this product: hidden link. The image and category have been updated correctly, but the product brand was assigned to the wrong place…
I tried the same steps for another product: hidden link, but the translated product automatically created a duplicate brand: popsicle-en-2.
Is there also an issue with my brand translation page? As shown in Image 1, my brand has been split into two sections instead of adding the translated language in the same column.
Additionally, as shown in Image 2, the brand translation page seems to be conflicting with the original language. This causes an error when naming the brand’s slug, displaying the message: “The slug ‘popsicle’ is already in use by another taxonomy term.”
Before this, I followed the steps you mentioned to try fixing the issue where the brand couldn’t be updated:
WooCommerce Multilingual & Multicurrency >> Status >> Troubleshooting >> Duplicate terms (please select attribute):Brand 8 left >> star
I’m very sorry, but it seems that more issues are arising.
I think I should summarize the current problems:
1. When I update a product (primary language: Chinese) by modifying the image, category, or brand, the translated product (translated language: English) encounters issues where the image, category, and brand cannot be modified.
Solution: Edit the primary language product >> Click “Update” >> Translate the page again. (However, while trying to resolve this issue, the following problem occurred.)
2. There is an issue with my brand translation. The English version of the brand link conflicts with the original language brand link, preventing me from using the same brand name in the English version.
Before the second issue appeared, I did the following:
WooCommerce Multilingual & Multicurrency >> Status >> Troubleshooting >> Duplicate terms (please select attribute): 品牌 8 left >> star
I initially thought this method would fix the first issue, but instead, it caused the second problem…
Please don't run the WooCommerce Multilingual & Multicurrency >> Status >> Troubleshooting options without a backup as mentioned. Let me check and I will revert back to you as soon as possible.
Sorry for the delays due to weekends. Could you please update the credentials here again? If possible, please revert the site to an earlier backup so that I could check this out for you again.
I have completed the translation for all brands, but the brand names still have the “-en” suffix. Does this mean that the translated brand names conflict with the original language’s website directory?
Additionally, the product images are not updating again.
Original page: hidden link
Translated page: hidden link
I have already tried the solution you mentioned above:
Edit the primary language product >> Click “Update” >> Translate the page again.
However, while trying to resolve this issue, another problem occurred.
This looks like some cache. I cleared the cache here using the "Clear the cache in WPML" button in WPML > Support > Torubleshooting and now the image shows up hidden link
As for the missing brand on the English Products, you need to resave the Chinese Language product and retranslate the product to English. Now I'm able to see "Anna" brand on this product category hidden link . Could you check?
Let me know if you want me to show you a screen recording on how to fix the missing brand on English products.
