This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing an issue where clicking "Edit" on a post that has a translation redirects to the Advanced Translation Tool instead of the WordPress Editor. The post shows a "gear" icon, indicating that the translation is in progress.
Solution:
1. To resolve the issue with the gear icon and redirect, we recommend checking the translation status. If the translation is stuck in the 'in-progress' state, you should cancel the in-progress translation jobs from WPML > Translation Management > Jobs section. For detailed steps, please refer to our documentation: Editing the stuck pages based on the translation mode you use.

2. If you receive a warning after starting to translate a post in our Translation Editor and then trying to edit it manually, you can disable this warning by selecting the checkbox "Don't show this again". If you prefer to edit translations manually, you may need to cancel or delete the existing translations and start a new manual translation. For instructions on how to delete translations, please visit: How to delete the translation of a page.

If this solution does not seem relevant to your situation, please do not hesitate to open a new support ticket with us for further assistance.

I clicked "Edit" for a post that already has a translation and instead of taking me to the WordPress Editor, it took me to the Advanced Translation Tool. On a previous ticket, I spoke to Lauren and figured out there's a setting to use the WordPress editor, however this post still has a "gear" icon and still takes you to the Advanced Translation tool. How do I remove it from the queue so clicking "edit" will take you to the Editor with the French content that has already been translated?

Hi there,

I will add the first reply before assigning this ticket to one of my colleagues.

Please go to the page edit screen and do a change on the original language, for example add a space in the content and save.

That way the new setting you created will start to work.

If you are not sure how to use the WordPress Native editor instead of the Advanced Translation Editor please read this documentation:

Thanks for the response. I tried the solution you recommended, however, it's still showing a Gear icon (hidden link), and popping up a message when you go to edit it (hidden link). Any other suggestions?

Hello there,

Thank you for providing us with more info and the screenshots.

With regard to the icon, the gears means that the translation of this page is in progress, please check the following link for more details: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/#translation-icons

Now, if the Translation status is stuck in the in-progress state, Please cancel the in-progress translation jobs from WPML > Translation Management > Jobs section and then try to retranslate the page again. The detailed steps are mentioned here:- https://wpml.org/faq/translation-status-stuck-or-displaying-the-error-wpml-didnt-manage-to-translate-this-page/#editing-the-stuck-pages-based-on-the-translation-mode-you-use

Regarding the second screenshot, this is not an issue. It means that you started to translate this post in our Translation Editor, and then you try to edit it manually.

If you wish to disable this warning, you can select the checkbox, "Don't show this again" and it will not show again.

Otherwise, you need to cancel or delete the translations and start a new one in a manual way.

I hope this helps. Please let us know how it goes or if you need any further assistance. I'll gladly help you.

Best regards,
Mateus
