Hi

In the "string translation" panel, I was looking for a specific string (another problem, another post about that). At some point, I tried to scan plugins as advised on some posts I found about WPML. I didn't get the expected result so I decided to clean that screen.
I then tried to remove strings through the "Remove strings by domain" function, I selected the plugins I scanned, I get a message telling me that's done but... the domain and its entries are still there!

Tried to:
- Purge Super Cache
- Disconnect/reconnect

Doesn't work. How can I clean these domains?

Hi Arnaud,

Thank you for contacting WPML support, I'd be happy to help you with this issue.

The option "Remove strings by domain" helps you to remove untranslated strings by domain, not delete all strings by domain.
If you want to delete translated strings by domain, please select the domain and select strings and click on the button "Delete selected strings". Please check this screenshot hidden link

Refer documentation https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/#deleting-strings

Look forward to your reply.
Thanks

Thanks for your answer

When WPML scanned the plugins, it added all their strings untranslated (I have the "+" sign to add a translation). When I use the "Remove strings by domain" function, these strings don't disappear although being, as I understand it, untranslated.
Am I getting it right or wrong?

I found out the approach to select a domain, select the strings and delete them. That's some work as I must do it for each domain individually (the jetpack plugin itself showed around 10 domains, with 50 entries max... Anyway, that works that way, it just takes more time than necessary.

Thanks for your time mate

Hi,

Do you select the domain to remove untranslated strings? I see it works correctly on my demo site, screenshot hidden link

I hope I was helpful. Don't hesitate to ask if you find any problem along the way, I'll gladly help you.

Yes, I did. I tried selecting multiple domains, one single domain, with the same result.

Hi,

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to have a testing site where the issue is replicated. Your next reply is set to private to share the info.

❌ IMPORTANT: Please backup your database and website before proceeding ❌
You can use this plugin to create the backup: https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
✙ I would need your permission to de-activate and re-activate Plugins and the Theme to change configurations on the site if needed. This is also a reason the backup is critical.

Look forward to your reply.
Thanks

Hi

Thanks for the offer.
That would be some work while not being a critical problem. I took the time to delete the entries by selecting them (I changed the display at 1000 entries per page, so was quicker, more starts to make the admin WP interface to hang). I may keep your offer to investigate for later.

Thanks for your time as well.
