This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
You translated a page using WPML and noticed that the translation appears incomplete as indicated by the gear icon, even after marking it as 'complete'. Additionally, the German translation displayed is different from what was expected.
Solution:
We recommend deleting the translated page since it is technically just a normal WordPress page linked to the original through the 'trid' field. To do this, open the translated page via the language switcher in the top admin bar, delete the page, and empty the trash. This action should make the '+' button reappear for you to add a new translation.
However, for a more thorough solution, we suggest deleting both the original and the translated pages and creating them anew. This ensures that no faulty data from the original is carried over to the new translation.
If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If problems persist, please open a new support ticket.
