Hello,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to seek your assistance with an issue we are facing on our website. Our website supports two language versions: English (which is the default) and Canadian English.
We utilize the YOAST plugin for SEO purposes and have stumbled upon a problem with the sitemap of the Canadian version of our website. Specifically, the sitemap located at hidden link contains multiple duplicate entries.
Here are the steps we have taken in an attempt to resolve the issue:
1. We tried deactivating all other plugins to check if there was any conflict causing this problem. Unfortunately, this action did not resolve the issue.
2. We also attempted to activate the WPML SEO Plugin. However, upon activation, the Canadian sitemap completely disappeared.
I would greatly appreciate any insights or recommendations on how to eliminate these duplicate entries from the Canadian version of our sitemap.
Thanks,
Maksym

Hi Maksym,

WPML is fully compatible with Yoast and we recommend using the glue plugin we have created to help with this.

" attempted to activate the WPML SEO Plugin. However, upon activation, the Canadian sitemap completely disappeared."

That is actually the correct behavior and how it is supposed to work.

When using a multilingual site with WPML + Yoast SEO you should only have 1 sitemap for your site and all languages will be listed under this one sitemap.

Having Different sitemaps per language while using WordPress SEO by Yoast should only happen when using the language URL format of "different domains per language" (www.site.com and hidden link for example)
