Background of the issue:
I just tried converting the site manually, and some use of credits. I am trying to translate the site, but some parts like the header and footer are not translating. Some pages and templates are also not translating.
Symptoms:
Some values are not translating, specifically the header, footer, and some pages and templates.
Questions:
Can you check why the header and footer are not translating?
Can you check why some pages and templates are not translating?
Can you provide solutions for the translation issues?
I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.
Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.
Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.
✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.
Thanks for your response. Let me clarify the current situation:
Regarding the navigation menus, I've synchronized them for you in French hidden link . The long title in the first menu item is derived from the page title hidden link , which displays directly in the menu. Additionally, some menu items are sourced from categories, and if these categories are not translated, the items will not synchronize correctly: hidden link
For the "Search" string in the header, I've located the string hidden link , and I've successfully tested its translation into "SEARCH-FR".
Regarding the missing footer menus, please switch to French using the language switcher on the admin bar hidden link , and check why some links are missing. This issue likely stems from missing translations preventing synchronization.
To translate the untranslated footer titles, please begin the translation process hidden link , and click on the "+" sign next to the French word in the sidebar.
You said "The long title in the first menu item is derived from the page title hidden link".
So how do I change it? And is there a configuration option so this doesn't happen as it doesn't make sense why it would do this. It should be taking the Navigation Label as written, not the page title.
I guess it's time to do this on the live site and "hide" the switcher until it's all done. Can this be done so that only admins can see the switcher? I want the client to be able to check everything.
It's the title here hidden link that you can edit or you can edit the menu item label directly on the navigation menu settings here hidden link as shown in the attached screenshot.
