[Resolved] Split: English button taking to basic main language page
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: 1. The translation flag is not showing despite attempts to change the image format and use custom flags. 2. The site's basic language is Korean, and when the English language button is clicked, it redirects to the Korean main page instead of the English version. 3. Auto-translate is not translating all content, such as the main menu, and there is uncertainty about whether to create a separate menu for translated pages. Solution: After investigating the issues, it was found that turning off the CDN, browser cache, and object cache resolved the problems. Additionally, the 'synchronize menu' function started working correctly after these settings were adjusted. It appears that the issues were related to caching.
i can solved our site problem, thanks.
but there is some more issue on my website..
1. translate flag didnt showing (i tried to change png or svg and custom flag, but it didnt work)
2. my site basic language is korean, and translate language is english, and chinese. when i click a chinese button, it working successfully, but english button move to basic main page(korean).
3. and i used auto translate, but didnt translate all of content like main menu, part of main menu is translated but not for all. should i do to make another menu for translate page?
Regarding your second question, about the button in Chinese: can you give me more details? Which button exactly is it? Please share a screenshot. This way, I can have further details on how to assist you.
when i click a 'english' button, it refresh the page but didnt move to my translated page.
'chines' button is working succeful.
my page domain is 'hidden link', and i add a translate button bottom of footer, you can visit my page and test it. because i cant capturing video.
After investigating your website, I noticed that after choosing the language, the text is being overwritten by other translation (which would be the local translation for you). In my case, when I click the Chinese or Korean pages, the text gets translated to English, perhaps because of my location.
It's probable that this issue is related because you have the GTranslate Plugin alongside with WPML. Could you please deactivate GTranslate and see if the issue persists? Please share your results with me.
i tested about your advise, but it didnt work.
this page is already operating for our customers, so we can delete a Gtranslate after perfectly working that WPML.
i tested deactivated gtranslate for a few minute, and purge all of the cache, and click the english button, it just refresh the site. (if is working nomally i think, it will be move to lusastank.com/en/ but just lusastank.com.)
and if i texted directly domain about 'lusastank.com/en/', it moved to 'lusastank.com' too.
can you help me? 🙁
thank you for sharing. It is not advised to use 2 or more translation plugins in parallel. This can lead to bugs in your translations (as the ones you are experiencing right now) and even to critical failures. I recommend you stick only with WPML. It offers a complete solution that goes beyond just translating visible text on the page (you can also translate links, menus, media currency and much more). The plugin GTranslate itself also advises against using multiple translation plugins (see screenshot).
As for the error itself, can you please share exactly which steps you took? In my experience it worked perfectly after deactivating GTranslate (see video)
hidden link
The video is private, so only users with this link can see it. Tell me if this solves your issue.
hello, lucas, Did you have a good christmas? thank you for reply.
I tested in same condition, but it didnt work.
hidden link
here is my capture video link, with condition that deactivated Gtranslate plugin, purge all of the cache. (Just in case, I pressed all the other purge buttons before the video.)
It may vary depending on the region..
I had a great Christmas, thank you for asking 🙂 I hope you had one, too. I saw your video and tested it myself on the live website, the issue is indeed still happening. Furthermore, I checked and confirmed that there's a redirection from lusastank.com/en to lusastank.com, but I don't know where it's coming from. I checked your .htaccess file and everything appears to be fine there It's proabable that this issue is server related - as it's not happening on my local copy.
Please talk to your hosting provider and see if there are any redirections set on your server. Keep me updated. That might solve it.
After your reply, take a look setting about LScache.
Finally it works after turn off the CDN, and browser cache, object cache.
and 'syncronize menu' is working after that settings to..
All of my problem may depend on cache i think.
Thank you for your kindness. Take care and happy new year!
