[Resolved] Split: translated string not showing up
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client is experiencing an issue where additional strings are in English instead of French, possibly due to a language selector setting in the WP Cookie consent plugin, with the site's main language being French. Solution: We recommend changing the source language of the string before translating it. Please follow this guide to change the source language to English and then translate the string to French: How to change the source language of strings. After completing these steps, verify if the string displays correctly in French.

Hi again. I need your assistance as I'm having a similar issue on another website hidden link
This time, the additionnal strings are in English where they are supposed to be in French.
Would it be that WP Cookie consent plugin has a language selector in it's settings is causing these bugs, the site's main language being French?
Hi,
I think that WP Cookie consent plugin has been coded in English. Like I wrote, the problem is linked to the fact that the main language of my site is french and even if I chose French in WP Cookie consent settings, all the strings that WPML find are in English. I wrote to the developer about this. All this to say that I found a way to resolve somewhat the issue.
If you change the strings to French in the plugin settings, please delete the strings from WPML-> String Translation and re-add them from the Admin Texts screen.
I think this happens because of the site's default language.
Not working. As I mentionned previously, even if I chose French as language in WP Cookie consent settings, WPML shows the string in English and when I search for them in Admin Texts screen, only two strings come up not related to the banner as such. As I have to redo the translation of the strings again, I hope that WPML still has them in the database.
Not much either shows up with this search. Now after reverting to English in WP Cookie consent settings and redoing the strings translation, everything works fine.
I may have to use WP Cookie consent on another website. I'll try right your suggestion from the start and see if it works.
Please let me know if you need further assistance regarding the Cookie strings on the other site.
Best regards,
Osama
