This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The placeholder text of WPForms address fields can't be found in the translation editor or string translation.

Solution:
Please make sure to have a full backup of your site then follow these steps:
1. Open …/wp-content/plugins/wpml-wpforms/wpml-forms-config.xml file.
2. Look for line 57
3. Replace the following line:

<property>code</property>

With:

<property>code</property>
<property>address1_placeholder</property>
<property>address2_placeholder</property>
<property>city_placeholder</property>
<property>postal_placeholder</property>
<property>state_placeholder</property>
<property>country_placeholder</property>

4. Resave the form
5. Send it again for translation

Great,

I saw what you did and I appreciate it, however now I have a few new problems.

1. I managed to translate one of the forms in the WP Form plugin, but some strings were not found at all. See photos "WP Form and WP Form2"

Hi,

Please go to WPML > Theme and plugins localization. Select WPForms and scan it for strings then search for the strings again in WPML > String Translations and translate them.

More info: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/creating-multilingual-forms-using-wpforms-and-wpml/#translating-other-form-texts

Let me know please if that helps.

Kind regards,
Mohamed

Hello,

I tried as you wrote but I failed to translate these two strings. in WPForms...

After I scanned the plugins I still couldn't find them in the Translate manager.

When we speaking about problems with strings I can't find, I have another one.

I was translating the footer yesterday and I managed to translate all but one word (Industrije), I even found it in "Translate texts in admin screens" and translated it but it still throws out the word in the original language.

Please see the attached picture.

Hi,

Our developers just published an errata page about a compatibility issue with WPForms which seems to be the same. Please create a full backup then try the workaround shared here: https://wpml.org/errata/wpforms-address-placeholders-text-not-displaying-in-translation-editor/

Let us know please if that helps to resolve this issue.

Regarding the footer widget string, I created a new ticket and will update you here soon: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/split-translating-the-footers-widget-title/

Kind regards,
Mohamed

Hi,

Sorry for writing here about problems that have nothing to do with the current topic, but I have two more problems that I have not been able to solve on my own.

1. On the Careers page, on the posts related to open positions, there is a sidebar that displays the Brochure and a short text from the Widget. I found those strings in WPML but regardless the translation is not visible on the page.

2. I have already created a ticket and related the problem on the Home page, the complete page returned to the original - Serbian language and was translated into English.

Please see pictures attached.

Hi,

I created a new ticket for the Career page widget and will update you there: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/split-translating-the-text-of-elementor-widget/

Regarding the other issue with the homepage, I replied to the other ticket you created (https://wpml.org/forums/topic/the-home-page-has-reverted-from-english-to-its-original-language/)

Could you please confirm if the WPForms issue was resolved by following the errata page I shared above?

This also did not solve the problem.

I placed the code as instructed in the file but I didn't see the strings to translate.

Those texts need to be translated with the form content using the advanced translation editor. I saved the form again and resend it for translation, now the translation editor shows those fields.

Please go to WPML > Translations, edit the translation, and translate those fields then complete the translation.
