Since two days we suddenly can no longer use the String Translation plugin, which we need for Theme- and Plugintranslation as well as for the WooCommerce WPML Plugin.

Loading any of the translated sites or woocommerce products results in a 500 Error, either with "max execution time reached" or "max memory size reached". We upped memory_limit and max_execution_time to levels that shouldn't even be needed in production (600s, 512mb) and the problem persists, so String Translations seems to have a major issue if it suddenly uses up 512mb and was fine with 128mb before.

We are out of ideas of what to try, so we are looking for support on this ticket.

Many thanks in advance to any and all help provided!

best regards

tuo

Thank you for contacting WPML support. I'll be happy to help you with this.

Could you please update your WPML plugin to the latest version 4.6.6 and add-ons to benefit from the latest bug fixes and improvements? This may not necessarily resolve your problem, however, in order to troubleshoot the issue best we need to work on the latest code available.

You can check the latest released versions under "My Account -> Downloads" on this site. Instructions to update can be found here: http://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/

Please remember to backup your database first before you proceed! You can use a plugin for this if you like (example: http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/)

Let me know if the issue persists after an update has been done.

Thank you, the update seems to have fixed the issue! I'll remember for the future to not only check the Plugins-Update page, but also manually check for updates via "Add New -> Commercial -> Check for updates".
