This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The client experienced issues with the WPML plugin causing conflicts on a platform using BuddyBoss. When WPML was activated, groups on the listing page were not accessible.
Solution:
We clarified that BuddyBoss Groups are not translatable by default; only the group title and description can be translated using WPML String Translation. Upon testing with the latest BuddyBoss Platform update, it appears that updating BuddyBoss resolves the issue.
If you're experiencing similar issues, we recommend updating your BuddyBoss Platform and checking if the problem persists. Additionally, ensure that you are using the latest version of WPML and other plugins. For further assistance, please visit our support forum. We also highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the issue continues, please open a new support ticket.

There were many plugin updates available, which I completed now. I also installed the latest versions of our plugins. I was able to activate WPML String Translation after running all the updates. I am also able to visit WPML > Theme & Plugin Localization. The Groups are showing up here: WPML is not able to translate the groups. It will display the same group in all languages and allows you to translate the group title and description with WPML String Translation. Also, please take note that "Field Groups (acf-field-group)" inside WPML > Settings > Post Type Translation should always be set to "Not translate". Please test again now and let me know if further assistance is needed. |

Also, I see that you have for example posts in various languages assigned to the site's default language. If you open the post on the WordPress Editor you can change the source language for this content on the right sidebar. You further can manually connect contents between different languages. Please read this guide: |

OK, looks like there is a communication issue between us. So I made the video of what doesn't work. First part of the video: The groups doesn't work when the WPML plugins are active. When I try to go into the group, it fires 404 error. Second part of the video: The translations don't show on the frontend. I am showing you Buddypanel menu on Mongolian site. You can clearly see that the strings for that menu are translated properly in the backend. And they are not showing on the front end. So these are the biggest problems which makes the plugin unusable. What to do with that please? Here is the video: PS: I understand how I can translate the articles and posts and pages. that's not an issue. But I won't do so unless the plugin works properly. Now I will translate it and then it will end up in the black hole due to plugin problems. |

No worries, we will take care of all the issues found on your site. 1) The 404 errors are displaying 404 errors even if WPML is disabled. This is not a WPML issue. 2) As I mentioned already, you will need to translate all the pages first. Could you do this first and we will take over with testing from there? If you are unsure about how to translate the pages, please let me know. |

There is no 404 error when plugins are deactivated: hidden link The articles disappeared from blog page after you have updated the plugins on live site! Look here: hidden link And don't try to fool me. I don't need to translate everything in order to see the menu in the chosen language. What will be your plugin for then? I have set that if the translation is available it will show it and if not it will show the original version. Of the page, post, whatever. So don't really try to convince me that I have to translate everything on the website to see some strings first. It is not true because I can see translated strings in my slovak translation but not in ma mongolian one. Slovak translation I have done months ago when trying to use the plugin for translation. Mongolian has been done in last days as a try if it work. It doesn't. It looks like there must be some kind of conflict which made your plugin really not working and unusable. Watch the video. Slovak translation has strings translated, mongolian doesn't. And same for slovak as for mongolian - I don't have all pages and posts translated. And I will not do so unless I see the plugin works properly! hidden link Thank you. |

I can currently not recreate the issue about groups not being visible. The 404 Errors on the Group pages seem to be a cache issue. Right now WPML and our addons are enabled and the groups are visible. Sometimes even saving the WordPress Permalinks might solve such issues. --- The Blog page is not displaying any articles, even if I disable WPML. Please consult BuddyBoss Support about this, as this seems not to be a WPML issue. --- About the pages: Here is our documentation about how to translate Buddy Boss. It is clearly explained how to translate the page and it is obvious that the pages need to be translated to be able to display content in second languages. As I mentioned earlier, if you open the translation of the "Dashboard" page, you will find many strings that need to be translated on the WPML Translation Editor. See screenshot. If you do not wish to follow my advice, please open a new support ticket and consult another supporter. |

This is crazy, still the same...still the same problem, still the same answer. If you didn't realize I have disabled the plugins. SO that's why you didn't have a problem to go to the group. But when active, there is still 404 error. Tried it in different browsers, in incognito mode. So, if you do check something do it properly. Articles page - that is completely your fault! You did updates for plugins on live site! Without permission! On your own! And destroyed the website! I personally do everything step by step on my staging and only then proceed to my live site to do it again on by one! And you have updated updates on my live site without permission and without previous checking any problems related to that! So you have destroyed it I want you to find out how to solve it! And again, you are talking about Dashboard page. But if you didn't realized I am talking about menu! I know that if I do not translate the page it won't be translated on front end! I am not stupid. But I have translated the menu items and the translation is not there! For Slovak language it is there because it was translated months ago, but new translation doesn't work! It has to do something with new versions of plugins! So, I want menu items to be translated for other languages same as for Slovak. Not dashboard page. Not any other page. But menus. And really you messed up the platform by updating plugins, do something to bring that articles page to life again! This is serious. What support is this if it doesn't help to solve things but even do things on live site! Without permission! I am pissed off already. The blkog page has nothing to do with WPML but with your not allowed plugins updates! |

Take note, that I enabled WPML, and all addons and the groups were still available. I tested this on 20 of your groups and they all kept showing up. I will make a video the next time I am testing this. I am sorry about running the updates, but please take note that usually, we do not attend to any issues, unless it is assured that the site is updated and the issue persists. The current issue with the blog page is not caused by WPML. It persists if you disable WPML. Anyhow, I understand your concerns and I will try to take a local copy of your site to investigate further. |

As I see at the moment a functional website including blog post and groups, I decided not to take a copy of the site, as I can not confirm any issues while WPML is active on the site. Here are the videos of my test: Video 1: Video 2: |

Yes, the problem with articles has been already solved. I hope. So no other action is required. But for the groups, that's exactly what I am trying to tell you from the beginning, maybe this is just a communication issue. When the WPML plugins are not active, the redirect from the groups listing to the group itself works. But once WPML plugins are active, the group thumbnail within the groups listing always redirects to the groups listing page again instead of to the particular group. Yes, you are right, we can open the group somehow through the link or from the backend. But we are not able to open the group from the most obvious place - groups listing. And that's a problem. And this problem is here only when WPML plugins are active. So the second video and its first part shows the behaviour when WPML plugins are active. When they are deactivated, the redirection to the group page works without an issue. And that's the problem. Once this will be solved it looks like everything works OK. I was able to do mongolian translation, thai translation and slovak translation for the page and it appears on frontend. So this looks like it will work but this group redirection issue is quiet critical as that's very important feature on our platform. And as for posts translation and setting that for the translatable option - I know that, I am fully aware of that. We already have a system how we will want it to be displayed on the platfrom, will do necessary steps to match the languages, but always we want to keep the original language (if it is english) to be visible in each language variation for people who are able to speak english. Other languages will be paired to the posts in that language. So we will take care about that once all the problems with plugin are solved. |

On a copy of your website, the issue persists when testing only with BuddyBoss and WPML. I will run further tests tomorrow, by trying to recreate this issue on a new test site. This way we can confirm if we are handling a general issue between BuddyBoss and WPML or if the issue is specifically occurring only on your website. |
