The Style of the original page is not the same on the translated pages.
Font, colors, margins, ... are all different.
My website: thebrewingcommunity.com
Original language: ENGLISH
Translated to: DUTCH
Theme of my page is FOODICA
I use Elementor to create my pages.

For 2 days I am trying to find a solution. I tried copying the main page and changing it. I searched the forum for similar topics and tried changing some specs, but still the style isn't changed.
When I open the translated pages with elementor, the style is perfect. But when I publish, non of it is visual.
See printscreens.

image: Style in ENGLISH --> original home page in ENGLISH
image: Translated page in dutch --> translated page from the original in language DUTCH. Style and banner are missing
image: translated page in dutch in ELEMENTOR --> visual when editing the translated page with elementor. The style is correct, but not on published site.

Hello and thank you for contacting us.
It is possible that your theme has a separate configuration for the other language.
I suggest to go to your theme settings panel and compare the settings and custom CSS if you have set any, and then TRY (because I can only guess here without being able to check it) to switch the language on that theme panel page via the admin language switcher in the toolbar above on your site, and make the settings the same and save your theme settings.

If this is not helping, I guess we need to take a deeprer look and we will need the means to access your site and check.

Hi there.

From what I can see, there's a custom field for the Elementor's custom styling that is set to "not translate" for the moment. This might be the custom field that carries over the custom styling to the translated pages so you would need to set that to "copy" (check my screenshot).

Related documentation:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-custom-fields/

You can go to WPML > Settings > "Custom Fields" section > Show system fields > search for "css" > set it to copy (click the lock first) and then save.

Now go to the default language homepage and make a small change then save it.

After that, go to the translated page, make a small edit and save it.

See if the custom CSS (styling) is now carried over.

I will be waiting for your confirmation.

Kind regards,
Mihai Apetrei

Hi and thank you for the confirmation.

There might be a compatibility issue in the middle between either the theme or the editor that you are using and WPML.

Can you also please try the duplication method then and see if by doing things that way, the styling carries over to the secondary language, too?

Here is how you can do that:

1. Create a full backup of the site
2. Create a new homepage in the default-language, add in the content and save it (or delete the current translation of your page by switching the language at the top of your WP backend, go to pages and delete the translation, then go to the "Trash" tab link and delete it from there, too)
3. Go to WPML > Translation Management
4. Select the page that you want to duplicate, select the language that you want to duplicate the page in and click duplicate
5. Now switch the language at the top of the backend, go to Pages and click "Edit" on the newly duplicated page (it should open it in the same editor that you created the initial page in, so it should take the layout and instead of using any of the WPML editors, you can manually translate by using the initial editor that you used for the initial default-language page)

Related documentation:
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/displaying-untranslated-content-on-pages-in-secondary-languages/using-content-duplication/

Please let me know if that fixed your issue.

Kind regards,

I haven't had the time to follow all your steps.
However I tried copying the original homepage (ENG) and did a preview of the page. Even with this page (no translation), the style isn't copied. Since the installation of WPML, I can't use any basic Elementor Blocks and templates from the library because the style isn't carried out...

Hi there and welcome back.

Can you please give me some exact examples (for example create a test page with some blocks that have a custom layout and you don't see it carried over onto the translation) so that I can test with that?

I will be waiting for your response.

PS: Just a note that I won't be working on the weekend so I will be able available starting Monday next week.

Kind regards,
Mihai

Hi Thank you for your help.
Ok, I made a new page with blocks I picked from the template library from elementor.
See attachment 1 and 2
2 = how it looks in ELEMENTOR when creating the blocks
1 = how the page looks published. (no slider, no colors, no fonts, ...)

This is the preview page.
hidden link

All the pages I made before installation of WPML contain the desired style when published.
Every page I made after installation and every translated page WPML created is without style.

Hello,

I will be taking over this ticket.

Thanks for sharing the new test page, I can see the issue and CSS files are not being loaded correctly on the frontend as stated in browser console error messages.

Can you please follow the next steps:

Please make a backup before proceeding.

1) You are using a very old Elementor version. Please update Elementor PRO to the latest versions. Update WPML plugins to the latest versions.

2) Disable all other plugins, leave active only WPML and Elementor Pro. Switch to the WP default theme and check if the issue still happens with new test page.

3) Disable WPML plugins and check if the issue still happens without WPML plugins.

I would do it myself but I can not do it safely without FTP credentials, so in order to speed up this process if you could follow the steps above and let me know how it goes.

Depending on the results I will provide a sandbox site to test the issue or migrate a copy of your site to our servers for further testing, in a more safe way.

Thanks,
Drazen

Hi Drazen,
Thank you for your help.
I realy don't understand it anymore.
I changed theme to WP theme Twenty Seventeen
I deactivated plugin after plugin. And each time created a new page with just one stylish elementor block. Published and watched the result. each time the result was the same. Style visible in elementor, but not published.
I am now at the stage where I deactivated almost all plugins. Only woocommerce, mollie payments, elementor, and bpost shipping are activated and the problem still occurs.
See pictures attached
I can not deactivate the active plugins since they are crucial?
I don't know what to do next.
Kind regards
Dries

Hello,

thank you.

I have checked the issue and the website, and as you mentioned issue is happening also when almost all plugins disabled.

Style visible in elementor, but not published.
I am now at the stage where I deactivated almost all plugins.

The issue is happening when all plugins disabled and active only Elementor PRO on the WP default theme. The issue is happening also when WPML disabled, meaning it is not caused by WPML.

I went a bit out of the scope and checked what might be causing the issue, I think you recently might migrate the site to a new domain but path to CSS for your templates stayed the same (Error showing different domain path), and it is not loading correctly.

The similar case reported here:

In your debug log you get an warrning like this:

Warning: file_put_contents(https://cdn.wpml.org/home/deb91196n3/domains/customisedspirit.com/public_html/wp-content/uploads/elementor/css/post-1763.css): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /mnt/BLOCKSTORAGE/home/214261.cloudwaysapps.com/hyemmardnx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/elementor/core/files/base.php on line 180

At this stage, I would recommend contacting Elementor Pro support and sharing all of the information gathered for now, I am sure they will be helpful.

Please let me know how it goes and don't hesitate to ask if you find any problem along the way or have doubts or questions about the steps mentioned above, I'll do my best to help you in the best way possible.

Regards,
Drazen
