Hey there,

Thank you for contacting our support.

It is possible that this issue is being caused due to some propagation time, have you tested it again to see if the issue persist?

Moreover, I can see that both sites are showing some text instead of the actual main site:

This is a placeholder for the subdomain duits.miami-sports.com
This is a placeholder for the subdomain frans.miami-sports.com

By looking into our documentation, WPML checks if the subdomains actually loads the main site when it is doing that validation, so this could another reason why the test is failing:

https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-url-options/how-to-use-wpml-with-different-domains-per-language/#testing-if-the-domains-are-set-properly

Please see if you can fix it and point both subdomains to the main site to get this issue fixed.

Thank you, please let us know if we still help you with this issue.

Best regards,

Mateus

Well,
the only thing i could make is a redirect that points
'sub-domain.com' to 'domain.com' .
So i did that for . But that gives errors like hidden link
what I am missing on the info page, what is needed, what dns setting is needed,
because creating a subdomain, surely does not direct to the main domain .
So now, it just redirects to the same site, so how can this work?
I need more info to configure this, the info page is not clear

Hey there,

Thank you for your patience, and I apologize for any inconvenience you are experiencing. It seems there might have been a misunderstanding, and I'm here to clarify the necessary steps to properly configure WPML with different domains or subdomains per language.

Domain Parking:
WPML requires that the domains or subdomains per language be parked or aliased to the main domain. This is different from adding a CNAME or setting up redirects. Domain parking means that the subdomains will serve the content of the main domain, allowing WPML to display the correct language for each domain.

Steps to Configure Domain Parking:
- Log in to your hosting provider’s control panel. This is typically where you would manage your domains, subdomains, and other hosting settings.
- Look for an option called ‘Domain Parking,’ ‘Parked Domains,’ or ‘Domain Aliases.’ The exact name might vary depending on the provider.
- Park the subdomains to your main domain. Add each subdomain (e.g., frans.miami-sports.com) and park or alias them to your main domain (miami-sports.com).

WPML Configuration:
- Once the domain parking is configured and active, you can proceed to configure WPML’s language URL options without encountering errors. WPML should recognize that the subdomains are serving the content of the main domain and allow you to associate each one with a different language.

Testing and Troubleshooting:
- After configuring domain parking and setting up WPML, test each subdomain to ensure it is serving the correct language.
- If the subdomains still show placeholder text or errors, please check with your hosting provider to ensure that the domain parking or aliasing has been set up correctly.
- Ensure there are no redirects set up for the subdomains, as this will interfere with WPML’s ability to serve content on the subdomain URLs.

In Summary:
- Set up domain parking or aliasing for the subdomains through your hosting provider.
- Avoid setting up redirects or CNAME records for the subdomains.
- Configure WPML once the subdomains are properly parked and serving the content of the main domain.
- Test to ensure each subdomain is serving the correct language.

I hope this provides a clearer path forward. If you are unsure about how to park domains or if your hosting provider supports this feature, please contact their support for assistance.

Let us know if you have further questions or if there’s anything more we can assist you with.

Warm regards,

Mateus
