[Resolved] Synchronization issues between languages on main page
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client was experiencing issues with synchronization between languages on the main page after manually translating titles, subtitles, and banners using the "Edit with UX Builder". The main language is Portuguese (PT), with English (EN) and French (FR) as secondary languages. After updating the main PT language page, the manual translations in EN and FR were lost and reverted to PT.
Solution: 1. Edit the home page in the default PT language. 2. Select the WPML editor from the language side panel. 3. Ensure the Pencil icon is visible, indicating the translation is complete. 4. Edit the home page in the default PT language and select the WordPress editor. 5. Edit the translated home page using the UX builder. 6. Change the image as needed. 7. Update the translated home page. 8. Edit the home page in the default PT language again and select the WordPress editor. 9. Make any edits to the home page in the default PT language and update it. 10. Check the translated home page on the front end to ensure the changes are reflected.

Last friday I reported an problem with synchronization between languages on main page via WPML chat, and the colleague provide me a solution to try to solve the issue, as following:

1) Make sure the translation is complete(pencil icon) before updating the original language page or post
2) Open the original language post/page(which you are going to manually translate - translate without using WPML Editors)
3) Choose the WordPress Editor option like the following images

I made all these steps three times in order to test the sincronization between languages, but it unfortunately didn't work.
Let me explain better, I usually translate the main page titles and subtitles manually using "Edit with UX Builder" in each language. I also place a banner for each language and I do it in the same way.
The main language is PT, but I have EN and FR as secondary languages.
Since the last updates, whenever I carry out the translations manually in each language and if I update the main language PT again, the translations previously carried out in EN and FR are lost and "converted" to the default language (PT language), which did not usually happen.
I followed the steps in the report I made through your chat, but it still wasn't successful.

If you translated a page using the WPML editor and then updated the translated page using UX builder, please make sure to select the "Minor edit - don't update translation" option when you update the default language again. (Kindly check the attached screenshot)
We have indeed already attempted the solution you presented. This was the solution your colleague provided us with during the chat support, and unfortunately, it did not work as mentioned earlier.
Please refer to the attached screenshot. As you can see, I have already selected "WordPress Editor." However, when I click on the pencil icon to translate to English, I am only able to translate the SEO elements, as shown. I am unable to edit the information I need to. As highlighted in yellow, it states "UX Builder content - This content can only be edited in UX Builder."
Could you please review this and advise us on what steps we can take next?
Please go to plugins-> Add New, and install the "Classic Editor" plugin. After that, please edit the translated page and check if you can edit what you need.
I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated.
Your answer will be private, meaning only you and I can access it.

✙ I need your permission to deactivate and reactivate the plugins and themes and change site configurations. This is also why the backup is critical.
✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.
1- Go to Pages-> All Pages
2- Switch the language from the top admin bar
3- Hover on the translated home page, and click "Edit (classic editor)"
4- Make your edits and save them
5- Edit the home page in the default language Edit (classic editor)
6- Make a minor edit
7- Select the "Minor edit - don't update translation"
8- Update the home page

Following these steps did resolve the issue, but I want to highlight that I have never used the classic editor for these types of edits. Since I started using the site and WPML three years ago, I have always utilized the "Edit with UX Builder," especially for translating the texts and changing the main banner between languages.
Using the Classic Editor is not practical for my workflow, which is why Edit with UX Builder was originally chosen.
I'm confident that there must be another solution to resolve this issue and allow me to continue working with UX Builder.
Please investigate further and escalate this matter if necessary to address the sync problem.

Thanks for the staging site. I checked the issue and was able to replicate it on the sandbox site.
The issue occurs because the home page is initially created using the WPML editor. When you edit the default language, the manual translations in other languages are reverted.
I created a test page on the sandbox site and translated it to French using the WPML editor, then translated it into Portuguese using UX Builder.
Please login to the sandbox, change the banner image in English, and check the translated pages. (hidden link)
The French image will be changed automatically to the new image, while the Portuguese image won't change.
The workarounds for this case are the following:
1- Using the classic editor, change the image using its ID. (Kindly check the attached screenshot)
Thank you for your response, but I must express my growing dissatisfaction with this support.
I'm unable to access the sandbox as it requires a login, which I do not have. The staging site was created specifically for testing purposes, and I believe all necessary tests should be conducted there, not on the sandbox.
It's important to note that this issue has only arisen since the last WPML update, approximately one or two months ago. I have been translating each language using UX Builder since the inception of the project (three years). Even when I translate each language, the changes do not reflect in others, which is a new issue.
I am not willing to switch to using the Classic Editor for translations simply because a solution cannot be found or provided. This is not the level of support I expected.
Moreover, your latest response seems to reiterate the same information provided at the beginning of the ticket.
I would like to request that this ticket be escalated to another support representative.
What I truly need is a solution that allows me to continue translating each language using UX Builder, as I have been doing for years.
