Hello,

I'd be happy to take a closer look at this.

An error occurs when trying to edit the original homepage in Elementor.

See screenshot.

This error also occurs when WPML is disabled, which means it is not caused by WPML. Make sure to investigate what is causing this error and get back to me once the error is solved.

Please also provide me with more information about how this header was created and where the menus are getting assigned.

Hi Andreas and thanks for looking into this.

Firat, only the Gallery is done in Elementor. So my other pages only work with my theme (WP Bakery???(

I dont care if Gallery is not in the Thai menu.

The main problem is that the Thai menu is not showing up in the Thai version.

I've used this for about 10 years and I've no idea why the menu in the Thai version is now in English. I had an issue a couple months ago where I was advised to add some code to functions/x/x/x by WPML to get rid of 2 lines of code at the top of the page. That code switched out a character; the code went away, but I don't know if the Thai navbar was affected or not.

Whether that had anything to do with this, I've no idea, but I have to fix it now as my client is about to lose his mind ... serious trouble! Anyway, if I could just add like 4 or 5 Thai menu links to the Thai pages in the Thai navbar, that would help greatly.

BTW, when I go to the Thai hp, the menu is in EN, but if you scroll down, the rest of the page is in Thai - it's just the menu / navbar I can't get to work.

Sorry for the long post, but I want to do anything I can to explain this to you.

I'm in Thailand GMT +7. and I believe you're in Lima (-5?). Do you or can you??? email me when you update my case? At present, I have to login and go to my question to check if you've replied ... Many thanks for your help and assistance.

I have taken a local copy to run some further tests on a virtual server. Once I am done with this task I will contact you again.

IMPORTANT:
If you review Tools > Site Health there are many issues pointed out by WordPress that should get solved as soon as possible.

- For example, this site uses outdated versions for PHP and MySQL which should get updated as soon as possible.

While migrating the site, the following error was reported inside the Child Theme:

EXCEPTION syntax error, unexpected token "*", expecting end of file
	FILE: C:\laragon\www\isanrealestate\wp-content\themes\child-of-pro-AS\functions.php[382]

Looks like you tried to comment out a function, but did not comment it out properly.

I removed all the custom code from the Child Theme to continue testing.

I then ran into the next error:
Fatal error: Array and string offset access syntax with curly braces is no longer supported in \wp-content\themes\realestate-7\admin\OAuth.php on line 100

This is an error coming from the parent theme and is related to the fact that my virtual server uses PHP 8, while your site was running on PHP 7.

The theme seems not to be optimized for PHP 8.

The version you are using is long outdated.

We can sadly not provide support for outdated components. Please obtain the latest version of the theme and install it. If this does not solve the issue, please reach out to me again.

I further tested your site using the TwentyTwentyOne Theme, and the menu works as expected.

Hi Andreas - I've been sick and am planning to clone this site on another server to test it.

If I update the theme I must update to PHP 8. which means it must use Elementor. I checked in with my theme developer who said they would charge me $475/page to do that. Pretty incredible.

So I would like to keep this open until I do some testing and migrating if I can.

many thankss for youur consideration. - Jeff

The issue is that we can not offer support for outdated components. It seems there is a problem between the theme and WPML, and the theme has not been updated in a long time. It might be that simply updating the theme solves the issue.

1) I would suggest you purchase the latest version of the theme:
hidden link

This version should be optimized for PHP 8.1 or higher.

2) Then ask your hosting provider to update the server:

The site uses:
PHP 7.4.33
MySQL 5.7.23

Currently recommended for WordPress is:
PHP 8.1 or higher
MySQL 8.0 or higher

3) When it comes to the Child Theme, it might be that some of its code needs to be properly adapted to make sure it works with PHP 8.3. Now, this is custom work that is not covered by the WPML support policy.

Hi Andreas - Thank you again for your patience and assistance.

I tried updating the theme, then updating PHP to ver. 8+. The site loaded, but no listings were shown on the hp. Maybe this was a MySQL issue?

I don't have a virtual server, and am confused about all the changes needed, so I uploaded the latest theme to this folder in my FTP:

/public_html/ThemeNew/backup_2024-08-17-1841_Thailand_Real_Estate_Land_Home_af290dcf7330-uploads.zip

I am hoping you can update the theme, PHP, MySQL, etc, to see if it updates properly and loads correctly.

I cannot upgrade PHP to 8 and have the current old site work, I also hope using MySQL 8+ will load the data / listings. And of course get the Thai menu bar back.

Also, I don't know if I can still run WP Bakery on this site - I hope so - otherwise I may need to use Elementor - I don't know but I hope not.

I really hope things will work out with this. I remain most appreciative! - Jeff

PS: Is there a way to receive notifications to my email when you reply?

Hi Andreas - still no luck with this issue.

Do you think you'll have some time to work on this today?

Thank you kindly for advising. Greatly appreciated - Jeff

The latest version of the theme is v3.5.9. Your site is running 3.0.4, which was released in 2020.

Could you please install the latest version of the theme on your site, then update the menu translations, and verify if this solves the issue?
