This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client is experiencing an issue where the French alt tags applied to an image in the Advanced Translation Editor are not displaying correctly on the French page. Instead, the default English alt tags are shown. Solution: 1. Clear all caches available on the site. 2. Ensure that Elementor is updated to the latest version. 3. If the issue persists, apply the fix using the code provided by the WPML support team, which can be found here: https://wpml.org/errata/elementor-image-widget-translated-images-display-the-original-alt-text/.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, or if the solution becomes outdated, we recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Should the problem persist, please open a new support ticket with us for further assistance at WPML support forum.

Background of the issue:
I have applied the French alt tags to an image in the Advanced translation editor, but it is not displaying correctly on the French page. This issue can be seen at: hidden link for the top image in the banner of a man staring at the camera. This had worked previously and since updating to the latest version it no longer works. I have already tried the fix outlined here: https://wpml.org/errata/elementor-image-widget-translated-images-display-the-original-alt-text/ and reverted
Symptoms:
The translated alt text is not displaying; instead, the default language alt tag of English is shown.
Questions:
Why is the translated alt text not displaying on the French page?
How can I ensure the French alt tags are applied correctly?
I deactivated plugins and theme and still did not see the translation displaying in the image alt tags. This worked previously to the latest WPML update. Should / can I revert to the previous build?
Yes, you can revert, but please ensure you create a backup first.
To investigate this further, would it be possible for me to disable/enable themes and plugins? Alternatively, could you set up a test site so we can work on finding a solution?
Thanks for this - however when I made all the same updates (as well as disable the same plugins as on the link you sent, it is still showing the English ALT tag on the most recent build of the site at:
hidden link
I notice the staging version you used has the URL not using 2 domains so I tried to switch the site to match but it has the same error.
Please advise.
Are you able to make the update on the URL with the structre: hidden link
