Background of the issue:
We are trying to resolve a recurring issue with translated categories on our multilingual WordPress site using WPML. The translated category pages return a 404 error after about a day, and the only temporary fix is to re-save the permalinks. We have tried flushing permalinks, clearing caches, checking the .htaccess file, updating WordPress core, themes, and plugins, and reviewing WPML settings. We have also searched WPML documentation and forums for similar issues. We prefer not to switch themes or deactivate all plugins as the issue appears randomly and not immediately.

Symptoms:
Translated category pages return a 404 error after one day, requiring re-saving permalinks to temporarily fix the issue.

Questions:
What might be causing the translated categories to return a 404 error after one day?
Can you suggest a permanent solution to this issue without switching themes or deactivating all plugins?
