Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate the slug of a product category from Dutch to German using WooCommerce taxonomy on my website hidden link. I have used WPML for this translation.

Symptoms:
The translated slug works, but all the links in blocks and the language switcher are still linking to the old slug.

Questions:
Why are the links in blocks and the language switcher still pointing to the old slug after translation?

Thanks for your patience.

I regret any inconvenience caused, but to proceed with troubleshooting, I kindly ask for a snapshot of the site. Alternatively, with your permission, I can create one myself. For this purpose, I typically recommend using the free plugin "Duplicator." If you're already familiar with Duplicator (https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/), please skip the following steps and simply send me the archive file you downloaded.

To guide you further, please adhere to these instructions:

1. View the Duplicator instructions video: hidden link

2. Consult WPML's instructions on providing supporters with a copy of your site: https://wpml.org/faq/provide-supporters-copy-site/

3. If the archive file exceeds 400MB, please use Duplicator's file filters to exclude cache, wp-uploads directory, media, and archive files.

Once you have the archive file ready, kindly share the link with us. You can utilize platforms like Google Drive, Dropbox, or similar for file sharing, as the snapshot file might be large.

Please note that your next reply will be private, visible only to you and me. You can paste the file link there. Rest assured that once the issue is resolved, I will delete the local site.

Hello Kor,

Small update did some troubleshooting myself why it did work on staging and not live.

Looks like the issue lies in Rank math (when disabled the url doesnt show correct).

I will look into these settings, but maybe is this a known bug than let me know so I can check it faster. I will update once I found it.

Yes, got is fixed:

Remove head slugs
Remove main slugs from the category URL.
standard: /product-category/accessories/action-figures/ - Changes: /product-category/action-figures/

I had this option enabled, but that doesnt seem to work with WPML, do you know how this option can work with WPML? I have disabled it now and works as expected.

But would like to make our urls shorter with this options.

I found this article I think explaining the issue:

https://wpml.org/errata/rank-math-seo-turning-on-strip-category-base-causes-issues-with-secondary-languages/

Looks like no fix available yet.

Thanks for your reply. I've checked the report and it looks like this is fixed for Yoast SEO and not Rank Math yet. I can't see an ETA for this and I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I will come back to you once I've feedback on the report.
