This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was experiencing issues with WPML after migrating their site from Flywheel to WPEngine. Specific problems included errors in loading translation jobs and engines, and issues with completing translations for new pages.
Solution:
We recommended checking the REST API dependencies as detailed in our documentation here: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/rest-api-dependencies/. Additionally, we adjusted the site address in the WordPress settings from 'https://www.wastewaterscan.org' to 'https://content.wastewaterscan.org' to resolve the issue.

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Should you need further assistance, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Background of the issue:
We were successfully using our site on an old domain that was hosted by Flywheel. A couple of months ago, we switched the site over to WPEngine, and things appeared to be working correctly, though we're now discovering WPML is struggling with this switchover.

Symptoms:
Here's the issues we're seeing:
1. When going to WPML → Translations, we get a "Jobs could not be loaded" error and "No Data" inside the table
2. When going to WPML → Settings, we get a "Could not load translation engines" error
3. When trying to translate a new page, the automatic translation assistant opens up, when clicking the green "Complete translations" button, we're back on the pages screen with an eternally spinning arrow in the Spanish column and the page is not available in Spanish.

Clearly there's something wrong with WPML / the database? I did register the new domain at https://wpml.org/account/sites/ and re-registered the plugin inside of WordPress, the "WPML multilingual CMS" and "WMPL String Translation" now have green checkmarks.

One more drastic attempt at fixing this I tried was going the "Reset and deactivate WPML" route on the "Troubleshooting" page, I re-ran the setup assistant but the above issues were still present weirdly enough.

Questions:
How do I get WPML to catch on again and continue using

Thanks for reaching us.

Sorry, I had to remove the debug log from the ticket since you pasted it in the wrong info box. https://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/

I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.

Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.

Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.

✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.

Shouldn't the Rest API be enabled by default, any insight into why this might be showing "No"? This loads as you'd expect which as far as I can tell means the Rest API is enabled: hidden link

Hi Kor

Thanks, this indeed fixed the issue with WPML, it has some undesirable side effects though, e.g. users going to content.wastewaterscan.org now no longer get redirected to wastewaterscan.org. Also wondering if it affects links elsewhere but will see.

Thanks for your help!
