Thank you for your response. Yes, that's the process when transitioning from manual translation to the Advanced Translation Editor. You'll need to translate the content to ensure it gets saved in the translation memory https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/how-wpml-keeps-track-of-your-translations/ . I recommend that you refrain from converting your existing pages and posts to the Advanced Translation Editor and continue editing the translations manually. This way, you can avoid having to retranslate the content, whether manually or automatically, using the Advanced Translation Editor. Instead, only use the new Advanced Translation for your new posts. https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-the-translation-editor/switching-from-classic-to-advanced-translation-editor/

I recommend that you refrain from converting your existing pages and posts to the Advanced Translation Editor and continue editing the translations manually. How do I do this? At the moment if I click on translate in takes me to Advanced translation automatically

Wat benefit does Advanced Translation offer? I can see none. If I delete it will my translations still be visible in the classic translator?

Except of course that the translations weren't working using the classic translator which is where this started.

Thanks for your reply.

This is what I've done to switch to a manual/advanced translation editor hidden link . Disabling the Advanced Translation Editor will not remove the translations you've done using the manual/classic translation.

Using the Advanced Translation Editor allows you to trigger automatic translation using credits. However, if you use the Advanced Translation Editor, it will overwrite the previously manual translations. So, you'll have to complete it if you switch to the Advanced Translation Editor.
