This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
If you're editing text in the original language on your site and then attempt to correct the text in another language using WPML's Advanced Translation Editor, you might find that the translation in the second language disappears. This issue occurs when the system detects changes in a segment, requiring you to retranslate and review it.
Solution:
When you add new text in the primary language and save changes, ensure you use the "Complete Translation" button in the Advanced Translation Editor. This process should help in retaining the translations based on the translation memory. If the translation still does not appear, it might be necessary to manually re-enter and retranslate the affected segments. For more details on how translation memory works and can assist in this process, you can read here: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/how-wpml-keeps-track-of-your-translations/
If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your specific case, we recommend opening a new support ticket. Additionally, we highly advise checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins.

Hello, Thanks for contacting us. While you wait for my colleague to take over the ticket, let me try to help you with the issue quickly. I am not sure I understand 100% your issue, but if you are manually editing 2nd language page while using Advanced Translator then this is expected, you should not mix the translation method. You should only use the Advanced translation editor to switch to the manual method and not use the Advanced editor, image attached. Let us know if this helps. Regards, |

Thanks for your answer and I didn't got an email that you had answer so went in just know to check. I don't mixed the translation methods but use directorist wp plugin and maybe it has something to do with that? It has been a lot of problems so spend my time to fix the one after the other. Hope your colleague can find out the problem. Thanks, |

Thanks for contacting us. I've checked the plugin that you mentioned https://wpml.org/plugin/directorist-business-directory-plugin/ and it's fully compatible with WPML. I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified. Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements. Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me. ✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup. |

Thank you for your answer and effort but it doesn't work, I tried on the homepage and the field that I edit was empty in the English version. I also made on one listing and both in the English and Norweigan translation the field was empty. I think it's strange that the original translated text not is there and of course on a website you updated all the time and it can't be the meaning that you need to open the pages in all languages so you can copy the text missing not to lose what you already translated? I have worked with you plugin for agees and never experienced this. So please can you look a bit more what's the problem. I attach to screen print where you can see that both the English and Norweigan languages is missing 2 fields. And also I attach the Swedish original language and what I changed, I just added the bold text so you could see it clear and also I made the Öppettider: not bold Thank you, |

Thanks for your reply. When you add a new text on the primary language page, you need to save changes. It's showing up fine for me as shown in the attached screenshot. Could you recheck? |

Thanks for your reply. Are you saying that the texts highlighted on my screenshot are not showing up on your end? As for the "save changes", I'm referring to the "Complete Translation" button in the Advanced Translation Editor". |

Good morning, 1. I edit text in the original language Swedish 2. When I open to edit in Advanced Translation Editor the text in one of the other languages the field where this changed text is are empty on the right side and you only see on the left side the changed Swedish text. This means that everytime I need to go to the website page and have it open in another tab so I can copy the text into the empty field and then edit it. This going to be very difficult and time consuming because this website going be updated with information all the time and a lot of editing. As I told you I have use your plugin for many many years and I never saw this before. All the best, |

Thanks for the video. Yes, that's how the translation segment works. If it detects some changes on a segment, you'll have to retranslate and review it again. But if it matches your previously saved translations, it won't be charged with credits. You can read more about how translation memory works here https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/how-wpml-keeps-track-of-your-translations/ |
