Hi,

Even with the advanced editor, I'm asked twice to translate each alt-text.

Can you please share a screen record of this issue on your end? Please notice that, the alt text can appear two or more times in Advanced Translation Editor (ATE) but you only need to translate it at once and ATE will suggest the translation for other sentences, you just need to approve the translation.

Regarding the dynamic alt text of the Kadence image, I see that issue but it should be a different issue and I will split it into a new ticket. In this ticket, please focus on the issue of translating the alt text twice in ATE.

Also, I'm not able to login to the admin area because the 2FA security module is enabled for the shared account. Can you please disable it and I can login to the admin area?

Look forward to your reply.
Thanks

Hi Long,

"Regarding the dynamic alt text of the Kadence image, I see that issue but it should be a different issue and I will split it into a new ticket." ----> I kindly disagree: this is all related to finding a solution to my one one issue (i.e. being asked to input information twice for each image).

"I'm not able to login to the admin area because the 2FA security module is enabled for the shared account. Can you please disable it and I can login to the admin area?" ----> disabled.

"send a screen record" ----> How do I do so that only the WPML support team can see it and not the general public.

Hi Long,

It has now been over two weeks, and we still don't have a solution. I really need this sorted out. Is it possible to schedule a live discussion either with you or one of your colleagues?

Thank you,

Hi,

I'm not able to access the admin area because the plugin Wordfence blocks the shared user. Then I try to replicate the issue on a sandbox site and share a screen record of the translation image alt text, here is the URL hidden link

You can see the image alt text appears in ATE two times (image alt text and Kadence image block) but I just translated it at once and approved the suggestion for the second sentence.
If you want to test, you can access the sandbox site admin area with this link

Regarding the option Dynamic Alt Text, I'm asking our 2nd tier support about this issue and update you here when I have something to share.

If you want to have a live discussion with us, please open a new chat session https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/

Thanks.

Hi Long,

Your alt text translation is not working on the sandbox site. The English alt text remains associated with the image, even on the French page.

I checked in three ways:

1) Using browseo.net
2) Using the Image Alt Text Viewer Chrome extension
3) Using screaming frog

All three tools show that the alt text of the image is the same for the following two pages:

I have attached all the relevant screenshots, that confirm you alttext translation is not working. That's the same issue I have.

How do we get the translated alt text to be used on the translated page? Can you add a caption to your example, both need to be translated...

Hi Long:

I followed those instrutions: If you want to have a live discussion with us, please open a new chat session https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/

I could only open a ticket, not a chat session. Maybe I missed something. Can you please send me a screenshot of where exactly I need to click to start a live session?

Hi,

This happens because I'm checking the issue with the Dynamic Alt Text option. It's not working with WPML. You can create a new page/post on your own > Disable that option > Upload an image and translate it to see how it goes.

I also disable that option on my test page > Re-translate the page and the translation alt text displays in the frontend as well.

Regarding the chat session, there is a button to open a chat when at least one supporter is available. If not, it will be removed.

Thanks.

Hi,

I got some information from our 2nd tier support. Please check this below to use the option Dynamic Alt Text of Kadence image block and show the translation alt text in the second language.

1. Add the custom XML configuration code below to WPML > Settings > Custom XML Configuration:

<wpml-config>
	<gutenberg-blocks>
		<gutenberg-block type="kadence/image" translate="1">
			<key name="id" type="post-ids" sub-type="attachment" />
		</gutenberg-block>
  </gutenberg-blocks>
</wpml-config>

2. Switch to the second language and delete the translation image.

3. Edit the page > Make a small change to the page title/content > Save > Update the translation.

You can test this on the sandbox site that I shared above hidden link
then apply it on your site.

Refer documentation https://wpml.org/documentation/support/language-configuration-files/make-custom-gutenberg-blocks-translatable/

Look forward to your reply.
Thanks
