Background of the issue:
Hi, we have setup Woocommerce but the Delivery address forms in German and French are not all translated. I cannot find these items in string translations, and half has been autotranslated: hidden link and hidden link

Symptoms:
As you can see, for example Country/Region, First Name etc. are not translated. But canton/Kanton is.

Questions:
How can we fix the untranslated fields in the Woocommerce checkout page address forms in German and French?

Hi there,

Would you please go to WordPress Dashboard > WPML > String Translation and scroll down to see the Auto Register box and enable it?

Then please go to the front end of the website and reload the form in the original language.

Go back to string translation and this time search for the form items and see if you can find new instances of the string, if so please translate them and see if it works.

For more information:

Thanks.

Hi thanks that worked!

Another question, in our Payment option, we have the option to pay via "Invoice". That word remained in English, then I translated them all for German and French, but now all three languages show the French version. Why does it not pick up the correct lanuage?

Hi
The issue with the invoice translation is resolved. But the issue with the contact form still persists. I have followed your steps, but the translations keep jumping back to English. How can I make them permanent?

Hi there,

I'd appreciate it if you could open up a new ticket for the additional questions.

That will help us to serve you better and it is fair to our other customers.

For the time being I will split this ticket to answer the question about the contact form.

Thanks.

Hi Christopher,

Thanks for your response, I will in future create a new ticket for a new issue. I wasn't clear, I don't have an issue with contact form 7 here. The issue of the original ticket here is not resolved.

On the checkout page, the German and French versions are mainly in English. Although I have followed these steps you suggested:
"Would you please go to WordPress Dashboard > WPML > String Translation and scroll down to see the Auto Register box and enable it?

Then please go to the front end of the website and reload the form in the original language.

Go back to string translation and this time search for the form items and see if you can find new instances of the string, if so please translate them and see if it works."

When searching the string translations, even after auto registering, they are not findable, and all the one's that are found, I have re-translated and saved to check if it makes a difference.

After a while the translations disappeared again, and still German and French Checkout forms are in English (that's for both Shipping address and Billing address )

Thanks
makoto

Hi Makoto,

I see so the address info of the checkout form is still not translatable.

I'd appreciate it if you could give me the URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard after you make sure that you have a backup of your website.
It is absolutely important that you give us a guarantee that you have a backup so if something happens you will have a point of restore.

Make sure you set the next reply as private.

Thanks.

Hi Makoto,

Thank you I did the steps below:

- "WordPress Dashboard > WPML > Support > Troubleshooting (link)" adding related items there.
- Enabled the domain list in WPML > Theme and plugins localization
- Cleared WPML Cache
- Re-added the languages in WPML > Language to force WPML to load the missing translations.
- Followed the steps mentioned here:

https://wpml.org/errata/string-translations-are-not-visible-on-the-site-after-a-string-has-been-translated/

No result.

Do we have permission to copy your website to our server for further investigation?

Thanks.

Hi,
I just wanted to check in, as I am worried about data breach from clients. Can you please not import client data? The website is also very heavy with products, I would recommend working with sample products, instead of cloning the whole website. Please update me on this,

Thanks
Makoto

Hi Makoto,

As we have access only to the website in question, we do not have a way to remove the products for testing and maybe Sample products do not have a proper scenario.

If it is possible for you, I'd appreciate it if you could provide us with the acceptable content that does not breach the customer confidentiality so we can copy that version to our server.

You can set the next reply as private to provide us with that version of the website.

Thanks.
