This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was unable to register their WordPress multisite site with a new production URL and remove the WPML development banner after changing the site URL.
Solution:
We resolved the issue by registering the site with the same site key, which removed the WPML development banner from the live site. If you're experiencing similar issues, we recommend checking if the site is correctly registered with the WPML plugin and that the site key is correctly applied.

Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket.

Hi,

With a multisite installation, you register WPML on only the main site in the network. We explain it here.

https://wpml.org/documentation/support/multisite-support/#registering-wpml-on-multisite

You need to change the main site to production. Then, all the subsites should change accordingly, and the development banner should disappear.

Is your main site registered as a development site?

If my suggestion to remove the development banner does not work, please follow our instructions here.

https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-remove-the-this-site-is-registered-on-wpml-org-as-a-development-site-notice/#what-if-the-notice-still-appears-after-moving-to-production

Itamar.

But out of a multisite setup with 10 sites, I only need the WPML plugin on 3 sites. How do I go about that?

Hi Itamar,

I know registered the main site ultranavshipping.dk as a WPML site. This means that now there is a unregistered banner on that site, as well as the transmare.cl (Subsite) of the network.

I really need to get that WPML banner off - since it is a live site, and my client is not being happy about it.

I hope you can help.

Ok I temporarily deactivated 2Factor login for Superadmins- so you should be able to login now. Let me know if you succeed.

Thanks.

I fixed this issue on your site. The development banner is no longer showing on hidden link and on your main site in the multilingual installation, hidden link. I did it by registering the site with the same site key.

Please confirm that this problem is solved now.

Regards,
Itamar.
