This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is unable to edit the German version of their front page using WPBakery when WPML is activated, although editing the Dutch version works fine.
Solution:
We recommend switching from WPML's default Translation Editor to manual translation for the page in question. This allows full control over the content and layout when using WPBakery. You can find detailed steps on how to do this by following the instructions in our documentation: Using Different Translation Editors for Different Pages.

If this solution does not apply to your situation, or if it seems outdated, please check related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verify the version of the permanent fix, and confirm that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. We highly recommend opening a new support ticket if the problem persists. You can do so at WPML Support Forum.

The main language of my website (www.appartementenkleinwalsertal.nl) is Dutch and the second (and last) language is German. If I want to edit a page that is set as the front page in Dutch with WPBakery, it works. If I want to edit the German page with WPBakery, it doesn't work. All this while WMPL is on. If WMPL is turned off, I can edit the pages of both languages with WPBakery. How can I solve this?

Hello,

By default, WPML uses the Translation Editor to translate your content. If you wish to use WP Bakery to edit a translation, please follow the steps described here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/

It shows how to translate your content manually, so you have full control on what show on the page. Please tell me if that answers your question.
