This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing incorrect image text translations within the WPML editor.
Solution:
We identified a possible cause related to media files with similar filenames. For more details, see the errata page: Media Translation Issue with Images Having Similar Filenames.
We applied a workaround by navigating to WPML > Settings > Media Translation > How to handle media library texts and disabling the option 'Translate media library texts with posts'. We then initiated a re-sync of the media library by clicking the 'Start' button.
We recommend testing this solution on your staging site to confirm if the issue is resolved.

Hmmm, the issue I have being having is not at all what you suggest as a possible issue. I don't see how a workaround for a totally different issue can help. All my image names are totally different from one another. And the article doesn't talk about English image turning into a second language.

As for the "Translate Media Texts with Posts", this was suggested to me by someone else. I currently use 2 logos for the site, one in French and one in English. Would disabling that option after my logos within the WPML Media Translation?

Where exactly is that Start button?

Thanks!

Okay, I ended up disabling "Translate media library texts with posts". And then clicked on the START button. Result? No change. So, I made a small change on the page. Clear the caches, and now ALL my image text are completely gone from the ATE.

I'm starting to think WPML purposely does not work so small business owners like me go bankrupt.

I was able to bring the image texts back, by switching to the new ATE. But, then the new ATE brings a new issue, showing obsolete URLs for my page buttons. So, I switch back to the old ATE. Now, my image texts are back, and so are my French image texts are duplicate. It a never ended struggle to desperately try to make WPML work properly.

By the way, I'm working solely on STAGING14.
