Hello, we updated to the latest version of WPML on March 29, 2023 and have noticed a decrease in load times ever since. After digging deeper it appears that WPML is creating hundreds of database requests to get the page per language (up to 7), then display the correct language, resulting in thousands of taxonomy queries. |

Hi there, I am Subash and I will help you further here. I tried downloading the backup file but it does not seem to work. The file download is broken every time I try around 1.3 and 2.1 GB. Also the site gives "ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE" every now and then! Can you please provide a copy of the site again? If you could upload the site copy to a file sharing app like Google Drive or Dropbox and share the link from there instead it could help. Thank you for the details. However it looks like my IP have been changed to 27.34.1.58 and I see the message: "You have been blocked" when trying to access the site. Can you please add my new IP to the firewall and let me know? |

Thank you for the details. I am now able to login. I momentarily installed the plugin Query Monitor ( https://wordpress.org/plugins/query-monitor/ ) on your site to check the issue further. I checked the Homepage and I see the slow Database queries are generated by other plugins and the total impact of WPML queries on the site load speed is only 0.1 seconds as shown on the screenshot. I recommend you to troubleshoot the issue further with the Query Monitor result and respective plugin's support doing slow database queries . So WPML does not seem to cause any site speed or database impact on the site. Furthermore, we recently released WPML 4.6.4 with some performance improvement so I recommend you update WPML plugins to latest versions and see if it further helps with the issue. |
