Background of the issue:
We are displaying 160 destination posts on a Google map using the plugin Codepeople Google Maps. Most of the posts are only in English and not translated into French, German, Italian, or Spanish. All posts used to be displayed on the French map page; see our staging site as of May 2024: hidden link. But now we noticed that the non-English maps show only the posts translated into that very language: hidden link. We compared WPML settings and CP Google Maps settings and there seems to be no difference.
Symptoms:
Non-English maps show only the posts translated into that very language.
Questions:
What could be the issue causing non-English maps to show only the posts translated into that very language?
It seems that the behavior you described is expected. If the post destination is not translated, it won't be displayed on the map because there is no such post in the given language. However, you show that it's working in some way.
I recommend setting Posts to use a translation if available or falling back to the original language in WPML → Settings → Post Types Translation. If this doesn't resolve the question, you may need to compare the settings of both your sites or reach out to the author of the CP Google Maps plugin.
There might be an issue with some settings or compatibility with the CP Google Maps plugin. From what I can see, it functions properly when not using the DIVI visual builder on your staging site. But it works as long as you translate the post so it doesn't look like the issue.
