This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing an issue where the first post is duplicated on the news page in additional languages, such as German, and is concerned that deleting the translations might result in losing the post in those languages.
Solution:
1. We asked the client if they had duplicated the post in other languages using the WPML feature. If so, we recommended going to the WordPress dashboard, navigating to Posts → All Posts, selecting the desired language, and trashing the duplicated post.
2. We inquired if the client was facing the same issue when using any default theme, which could help isolate the problem.
3. We provided a link to our documentation on how to duplicate posts and pages using the page editor: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/displaying-untranslated-content-on-pages-in-secondary-languages/#how-to-duplicate-posts-and-pages-using-the-page-editor
4. We also reminded the client to back up their database before making any changes.

I am trying to: remove duplicate first post from additional languages

Link to a page where the issue can be seen:
hidden link (First post duplicated)

I expected to see: hidden link. (First post only appears once)

Instead, I got:
First post is duplicated. Same with other additional languages.

Thank you for contacting WPML support.

Have you duplicated this post in other languages? If yes, in the dashboard, you can go to Post → All Posts, choose the desired language, and trash the duplicated post.

Are you experiencing the same issue when using any default theme?

So we have the English post, the original one. If we delete the translations, we'll lose the post in the other languages no?

You mentioned that the German language has duplicated the first post. So, I assume that using the WPML feature, you have duplicated posts to German but not translated. If this is not why I am thinking, please clarify the issue.

Or the scenario is that you translated the post to German, but it appears twice in German?

Yes, you'll lose translation if you delete it in German.
