Problem:
If you're trying to control what gets sent to WPML String Translation and are looking for a function to exclude certain strings.
Solution:
We recommend creating an XML config file in the plugin root folder to specify which strings should and should not be translated. For detailed instructions on how to set up this file, please refer to our guide on language configuration files.

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Hi,

I'm Osama from the WPML forums support team. I'll be glad to help you today.

First, apologies for the delayed response; it was due to a higher workload.

There is no built-in function to exclude strings from string translation. You can write an XML config file inside the plugin root folder to tell WPML what should be translated and what shouldn't.

Please refer to this guide for more information on XML configuration.

Best regards,
Osama

Thanks for the information. Is there a way we could use .mo/.po files instead of relying on string translation through WPML?

Hi,

I'm afraid there is no way to do so without String Translation.

Best regards,
